Fire and Water and Blue and Gold
Last Sunday, the Fire and Water Podcast Network's JLI Podcast released a new episode in which the Irredeemable Shag interviewed Dan Jurgens and discussed Blue and Gold.
I... haven't listened to all of it yet. I mean, I did hear the part about the sponsor, InStockTrades.com, having the Booster Gold volume 1 hardcover collections on sale for 45% off. (Just in time for Christmas!) That part was pretty good.
But I seriously do have the utmost faith in both Shag and Dan, and I don't think you should have to wait for me to find the time to finish it before I inevitably recommend the episode to Booster boosters everywhere.
If you are better at managing your time than I am, you can listen to the podcast at fireandwaterpodcast.com.

New Release: DC Vs Vampires 2
Thanks to all who wrote to tell me that Booster Gold is in this week's DC Vs. Vampires #2.
For the record, I bought the first issue because I am a big fan of the Wonder Twins. If you read that issue, you know why I wasn't planning on buying issue two. You can imagine how happy I was to see Booster Gold make a supporting appearance in which he is a complete jerk to grieving Jayna.

Why would he say that?! Booster has a twin sister, too! Was Guy Gardner unavailable to deliver that line?
Honestly, though, I have never been a fan of this type of book. I have never wanted to read about corrupted heroes doing horrible things to other heroes... or, for that matter, to villains. Vampires aside, I certainly don't need a comic where the plot requires moral bastions Superman and Wonder Woman to mutely watch a "hero" bully a girl who is in emotional distress over the loss of her brother! Who cares about characterization? We're only here for sexual innuendo and mass murder!
(Pause for deep breath.)
Look, DC is giving me a Blue and Gold series right now, and I love it. If this is your kind of book, great. I'll buy what I love, and you can buy what you love. Live and let read — emphasis on live.

Coming Soon: Blue and Gold 7
DC Comics February solicitations are out, and Blue and Gold #7 (of 8) is on the way!

BLUE AND GOLD #7
written by DAN JURGENS
art and cover by RYAN SOOK
ON SALE February 15 · $3.99 US
Blue & Gold Restoration is up and running, with Booster Gold and Blue Beetle taking on any number of strange cases, from paranormal extremes to lost civilizations, ancient aliens, gateways to other dimensions, and even super-villains looking for help in going straight! But what happens when one of the threats turns out to be an old friend? Guest-starring Jaime Reyes as the Blue Beetle!
It's about time for the two Beetles and Booster to go adventuring together. (I love that Jurgens is really digging into the toybox for this series.)
And while we're on the subject of solicitations, I should mention that Human Target #5 is solicited to feature Martian Manhunter. There's no sign whether we'll also see a Booster Gold appearance, so we probably won't know until that issue is released February 22.
You can find all of DC's February solicitations at gamesradar.com.

A Well-Named Dog
Yesterday, I was searching the Internet for cute dog pictures (that's what it's for, right?), and I came across this recent post on afghanhoundpedigrees.com:
That smile! That hair! That self-possessed grace in front of the camera! Obviously, that dog must be named Booster Gold!
Specifically, it's Golddragon Booster Gold, bred and owned by Mario & Joaquin Martinez-Sanchez of Golddragon Kennel in Spain. (Photo credited to Armando Sobrado.)
I'm a Standard Poodle person by nature, but I cannot deny that hound certainly glitters.

Criminal Profiling
To help Christopher Chance find who tried to murder Lex Luthor in the pages of Human Target #1, Andrew Firestone has compiled a list of suspect "ranked in order of suspicion" for ScreenRant.com. Guess who he has at number 1?
Most superheroes do what they do because they feel they have a moral obligation to their fellow man to help other people. Not Booster Gold. Notable future time-traveler Booster, also known as Michael Jon Carter, claims he went back in time to the present day to become a famous, wealthy hero with the aid of futuristic technology. While Booster is rarely afforded the opportunity to actually become famous and wealthy in the comics, instead mostly serving as an honest and reasonably dependable hero, the fact remains that a hero with knowledge of the future could easily stop such an attempt on Luthor's life, but chooses not to. This immediately casts suspicion upon him chief among the league. The most likely reason is obvious: that Booster Gold actually went back in time to stop a world-ending catastrophe by killing the man who caused it: Lex Luthor. After all, if Booster Gold were really here from the future to get rich, why aren't there more like him?
I think he's wrong, of course, but maybe only because I've read every Booster Gold comic published in the past 36 years. Since Tom King's Human Target is reimagining the Booster Gold of 1988, who knows what the past holds now?
