New Release: DC's Very Merry Multiverse
When DC released the solicitation for today's DC's Very Merry Multiverse holiday anthology back in September, they completely failed to tell us that it contains a story featuring the greatest restaurant manager the world has never known!
"Twas the Night" is a short story taking place in the Planet Krypton restaurant of the Kingdom Come continuity of Earth-22 which is not to be confused with the Planet Krypton restaurant of the mainstream DCU as seen in The Kingdom. (And they say comic books are too convoluted. Pshaw!)
The 8-page story was written by Brittany Holzherr, the associate editor for both "The Gift" and Heroes in Crisis. My opinions of those stories are well known, but I'm not holding them against Holzherr, who seems to have learned all the right lessons: once again she's working with some great artists in Todd Nauck, Hi-Fi, Andworld Designs!
There's a preview of the anthology's first story (Harley Quinn in "It's a Horrible Life") online at CBR.com, but do yourself a favor and just buy this very Boosterrific issue anyway. You'll make Skeets — and yourself — merry indeed.

New Release: Batman Beyond 49
In the eternal search for Booster Gold cameo appearances, I made the mistake of flipping through Dark Nights: Death Metal The Multiverse Who Laughs #1. WHY WOULD ANYONE WANT TO READ A COMIC ABOUT BELOVED PET SIDEKICKS EATING PEOPLE? WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU, DC? Damn it, there should be a warning on the cover.
Fortunately, Batman Beyond #49 is a delightful antidote for most of the drek that DC is publishing these days.

Thank you, Dan Jurgens, et al.
A preview of the issue is online at CBR.com, but you don't need it. Go buy this issue and make Skeets happy. Sir.

New Release: Dark Nights Death Metal 5
This week's unexpected Booster Gold cameo (there on the bottom right between Beast Boy's legs):

That's Dark Nights: Death Metal #5 where Booster Gold has joined the heroes and villains of Earth assembled to confront the Batman Who Laugh's evil multiverse. This is set up to be the final battle at the end of the DC Universe, and it must be a big one; there are still 6 books yet to come in the Dark Nights: Death Metal event (at least one of which we'll be buying for the covers alone).
You can find an issue preview at CBR.com, but don't expect it to make a lot of sense. This series is not about making sense.
Skeets says buy it if you want to.

New Release: DC Cybernetic Summer
Released yesterday to a Local Comic Shop near you: DC Cybernetic Summer #1, including Booster Gold & Blue Beetle [and Skeets] in "The Boys of Summer" by Heath Corson, Scott Koblish, Hi-Fi, and Carlos M. Mangual.

CBR.com has the issue preview, but with Skeets on the cover, I'm sure you don't need it. (Which is good, because neither Booster nor Skeets is actually in the preview. Just Batman. Because Batman = DC Comics. I mean, who else would they let drive that Metal Men Jeep? Superman doesn't even own a car. Speaking of which, who formed the tires? It must be that newest Metal Man: Steel-Belted Radials.)
Buy this issue and make Skeets happy.
