New Release: The Man Who Stopped Laughing 6
I got not one but two emails this week telling me that I missed a Booster Gold appearance in the backup story in last week's Joker: The Man Who Stopped Laughing #6.
And here's the panel to prove it:

If you're wondering what the context is for that panel, I can't help you. I've read the comic cover to cover and still have no idea what's going on. But I have to admit that's one pretty amusing panel.
Thanks to Jace and Marty for bringing it to my attention.

Skeets Is Also a Great Cereal Mascot
The final issue of Human Target is out this week, and it's not impossible that UPDATE: Rob Snow assures us that Booster Gold puts in an appearance.
Booster might also pop up this week near Ted Kord in Blue Beetle: Graduation Day — UPDATE: he's actually in the House Ad for Lazarus Planet Omega — or referenced by Rip Hunter and his original team of Time Masters in Stargirl: The Lost Children — UPDATE: he's not, but another rarely seen time-displaced Leaguer is.
One place I wouldn't normally think to look for Booster is in the pages of this week's Batman: Gotham Knights: Gilded City, the comic tie-in to the Gotham Knights video game. Booster isn't often in Gotham City, but he is in the game. Or at least Skeets is.

Obviously, Flakies was the first cereal that Booster Gold ever endorsed way back in 1985 (in Booster Gold #2), and its great to see that they're still in business.
Gotham Knights takes place in an alternate universe where Batman is dead, so while it shouldn't come as a surprise that their cereal is star-shaped, I do have to wonder why they're called "Flakies" if the cereal itself isn't made of flakes? What kind of universe is this?

Thanks to friend James for spotting these boxes in game on top of Barbara Gordon's refrigerator.

New Release: Lazarus Planet: Omega
There are at least 11 different covers for this week's Lazarus Planet: Omega, but only one of those is any good because it's the only one with Booster Gold on it.

This one.
The issue preview at AIPTComics.com doesn't give any hint whether we'll actually see any Booster inside the book, so this cover may be all we get.
UPDATE 2023-02-21 Part 1: Yep, this is a cover-only appearance.
And we'd better enjoy it, Booster boosters, because AIPT also has the complete list of DC's May 2023 solicitations. For the third month in a row, there's no sign of any new Booster Gold adventures, just reprints like DC All Out War: Part 1 and the DCeased Box Set.
Surely this is a short-term problem, right? DC wouldn't announce a Booster Gold television show then put our hero in mothballs, would they? Would they!?
(Although, come to think of it, DC also announced a show for the Creature Commandos who haven't been in a whole bunch of comic book appearances recently... or ever, really. So yeah, they would.)
Regardless of what the future will bring, buy the David Marquez & Alejandro Sanchez cover of Lazarus Planet: Omega and make Skeets happy.
UPDATE 2023-02-21 Part 2: As Marty tells us via email, Booster Gold also plays a small part in this week's Superman: Space Age. Thanks, Marty!

New Release: DC's Harley Quinn Romances
Rather than wait for Friday, I might as well tell you about this week's new release today in the hopes that maybe you haven't been to your Local Comic Shop yet. I'll plan on resuming my regular Monday/Wednesday/Friday posting schedule next week, assuming James Gunn can refrain from dropping big Booster Gold news on my off days again.
(That's ok, DC. Whenever you've got something important to say about Booster Gold, you go right ahead. I might be a Grumpy Gus, but I'm always listening.)
It warms my heart to be able to say that Booster Gold makes a cameo appearance in this week's DC's Harley Quinn Romances #1. Technically, the cameo is his dating profile in an app for superhero hook-ups (as viewed by former Justice League International teammates Fire and Ice), but that's close enough, right?

The issue is an anthology with eight different stories. That panel is from "Dating App Disaster," and all Booster boosters will be relieved to know that Booster isn't the titular disaster.
Ten dollars is a bit steep for a single panel Booster Gold cameo, but I'm a sucker for these short-story anthology issues. I can't necessarily recommend it to everyone, but I personally bought this issue and made Skeets happy.

New Release: Nightwing 100
I've had my eye on this week's New Champion of Shazam #4 for months, but that doesn't have anything to do with Booster Gold. I just love me some Doc Shaner art (and Hoppy, The Marvel Bunny!).
I've also had my eye on this week's Nightwing #100. I also love me some Bruno Redondo art... and I especially love Bruno Redondo art with Booster Gold in it!

In a delightful twist, that's the issue's "Cover A," which means it is probably the most common* and easiest to acquire cover for this landmark issue. Which is a good thing, as there are at least 11 other covers of varying rarity. Whew!
*These days, DC allows retailers to order their choice of most non-incentive covers, which means there is no longer such a thing as a "standard" cover. Everything is a variant. And just because a cover has been designated as Cover A, that doesn't necessarily mean that retailers order more of those than, say, Cover B (or C or D...). So estimating the rarity (and related value) of any given cover is harder than ever. But since the laws of supply and demand still hold, the most valuable cover will usually be the most desired one, and who wouldn't want the cover with Booster Gold on it?
Buy this comic for its cover and make Skeets happy!
