This Is Now a Thing
I mentioned that this was coming back in April, and now it's here.
Popularly known as the New 52 Booster Gold, this variant is called "Booster Gold (Futures End)" by McFarlane Toys. But neither of those names is quite accurate.
For one thing, there are actually two Booster Golds in Booster Gold: Futures End, and the one who should be considered the primary protagonist of the issue wore an Advanced Research Group Uniting Super-Humans costume instead. It's never explained why he was wearing it. Maybe it was just so readers could to tell the two Boosters apart?
The other Booster Gold in that issue doesn't really wear this costume either. That character is wearing the Jim Lee design that first appeared on and in the New 52's Justice League International #1. (Here at Boosterrific.com, I call that the Mark XIII Booster Gold powersuit because it was the 13th costume Booster wore.) It has square goggles and a tight-fighting cowl that covered the cheeks with gold piping but left the forehead mostly exposed. As you can see, this figure's head is wearing something more similar to Booster's traditional Mark I costume.
(Since we're on the topic of McFarlane and inaccurately costumed action figures, the A.R.G.U.S. suited Booster Gold from Booster Gold: Futures End is the same character who became Waverider in Convergence. So if you want a complete collection of Future's End Booster Golds, you'll need this one and that one.)

What We Learned at Phoenix Fan Fusion 2024
Get ready to loosen those purse strings this summer!
Booster Gold was one of several DC action figures revealed at the McFarlane Toys presentation at Phoenix Fan Fusion 2024, as we can see in the above image from In Pursuit of Toys on Instagram. You can watch the whole presentation on YouTube.com.
I sure do like that high collar.
Thanks to Rob Snow and Mike Foster for keeping us informed.

What We Learned at Wondercon 2024
Over the weekend, The Blot wrote me to say
McFarlane Toys announced at WonderCon there’s a new Booster Gold 7” DC Multiverse action figure coming next year!!!
Cool, I thought. But then I looked at the email's attachment and saw this:
Disclaimer: this isn't The Blot's photo but the image I found at Toyark.com when I googled to confirm this wasn't an early April Fools.
A New 52 Booster Gold? An overly-complicated design that looked bad in 2D comics and looks even worse on a small 3D action figure? Who wants that? I certainly don't, and if you tell me that you do I'm going to give you a classic Gary Coleman side-eye gif.
McFarlane gave us the Blue and Gold set with Booster's modern Mark I.v2 costume back in 2022, and a Waverider Booster in 2023. While I'd love more Booster Gold figures, why can't we get the classic Mark I high-collar costume? Or, if you want to get obscure, how about a figure with the Conglomerate leather jacket? (Please!)
The Blot followed up with this message:
A quick update. Turns out the dates in the picture are wrong. The new Booster Gold figure is coming out in 2024!
That would be great news... if I wanted a New 52 Booster Gold figure. I don't. But if your name is Jim Lee and you're eager to get your hands on a New 52 Booster Gold action figure, 2024 is your year!
Thanks for the news, Blot.

Fashionably Late Super Powers
McFarlane Toys has announced the latest additions to their line of updated Super Power Collection action figures, including Manga Batman, Brainiac, Green Lantern Kilowog, and, most importantly Blue Beetle (Ted Kord) and Blue Beetle's Aerial Mobile Headquarters, better known as The Bug!
Those are all great, but McFarlane has buried the lede. If you look closely at the Bug's packaging, you just might notice another figure that has not been released or even announced.
There's no way McFarlane made a Booster Gold figure just to take pictures for the Bug's packaging, right? It seems a safe assumption that we'll be getting a McFarlane Toys Booster Gold Super Powers Collection figure sooner or later.
Blue Beetle and his Bug are available for pre-order via links at McFarlane.com. You might want to go ahead and buy both so you'll be ready with your own "Blue And" whenever Gold finally arrives.
Thanks to eagle-eyed Jake for bringing this to our attention.
