My Favorite Pages: Justice League America 31

My Favorite Pages

Justice League America #31 introduces Adam Hughes as the series' new penciller, and like any human being with functioning eyes, I think his work is amazing. Which is why I can't choose just one favorite page. Here are two!

I'd say the JLI has rarely looked better.

New Release: Brave and the Bold 13

We got a much smaller copy of this image of Booster Gold shaking hands with Supersaur in last week's DC house ad, but artist Mikel Janin gave us a better look at his work on x.com.

Unfortunately, that's not one of the covers for this week's Batman: Brave and the Bold #13 , but it is just one of 12 delightful pages featuring Booster Gold (and dinosaurs!) inside the issue.

Buy Batman: Brave and the Bold #13 and make Skeets happy.

What We Learned at Phoenix Fan Fusion 2024

Get ready to loosen those purse strings this summer!

© inpursuitoftoys

Booster Gold was one of several DC action figures revealed at the McFarlane Toys presentation at Phoenix Fan Fusion 2024, as we can see in the above image from In Pursuit of Toys on Instagram. You can watch the whole presentation on YouTube.com.

I sure do like that high collar.

Thanks to Rob Snow and Mike Foster for keeping us informed.

Just Another Day on the Internet

If you're a hardcore Booster Gold fan (and if you're on Boosterrrific.com, chances are good), you probably know that his Legion of Super-Heroes Flight Ring is about 500 years old, his mother has no first name, and he has sassed Darkseid to his rocky face and lived to tell the tale.

You've also probably heard that Warner Bros Discovery, by way of James Gunn and DC Studios, has a Booster Gold television series in the works. You might have heard talk recently that the role has been cast and the television series is scheduled to start filming in July, as many corners of the Internet have been reporting just that.

Except, apparently, it's not. Many of the same corners of the Internet are now reporting that James Gunn (or his social media manager) has taken a break from developing the latest movie about Booster Gold's biggest rival, that goody-two-shoes Superman, to throw cold water on those Booster Gold rumors via a post at some social media website or other.

Honestly, at this point, I don't know what to believe. Were the initial reports hoaxes? Or is Gunn just trying to disguise the truth now that the cat's out of the bag? One way or the other, I suppose we'll find out the truth one day, right Superman?

DC Challenge #12, "Phase 12.5" written by Len Wien and drawn by Ross Andru, Frank McLaughlin

Hey, if Superman's not above stealing a whole bunch of newsprint to hide his secret identity, can he really be all that mad at Booster Gold for "borrowing" some dusty old museum pieces to fight crime? (Bet they won't mention that in the Booster Gold television show.)

New Release: Wayne Family Adventures

Well, they really did it. They put Booster Gold on the cover of this week's collection of Webtoon.com's Batman: Wayne Family Adventures...

© DC Comics

...despite, so far as I can tell, Booster Gold not appearing in the strip.

I say "so far as I can tell" because my LCS didn't get a copy this week for me to buy, so I can't yet confirm. I mean, I could find out for sure by reading episodes 71 through 116 online at Webtoon.com for free, but why should I read something for free when I can pay to read it? Besides, Booster isn't in the DC.Fandom.com listing of characters appearing in Wayne Family Adventures, and if you can't trust the accuracy of crowd-sourced wiki-style content, what's even the point of the Internet?
