Cameo Madness
DC solicitations for May were released on Friday, and the biggest news for Booster Gold fans won't be making it into stores until August!
JUSTICE LEAGUE INTERNATIONAL OMNIBUS VOL. 2 HC

art by KEITH GIFFEN, CHRIS SPROUSE, MIKE McKONE, MARSHALL ROGERS, DARICK ROBERTSON, and others
new cover by KEVIN MAGUIRE

As the League franchises out to Antarctica, Lord Havok and the Extremists arrive on Earth to continue their galactic conquest, and Blue Beetle and Booster Gold come up with another of their countless schemes. Collects Justice League America #31-50, Justice League Europe #7-25, Justice League America Annual #4, Justice League Europe Annual #1,< /em>Justice League Quarterly #1, and Justice League International Special #1.
ON SALE 08.26.20 · $125.00
That's a whole lot of Booster Gold (including the Quarterly issue that was just reprinted this week in Justice League: Corporate Maneuvers).
Elsewhere, it looks like Booster will also be making return appearances of varying degrees (most of them very, very small) in the upcoming Year of the Villain: Hell Arisen trade (June 3) , Dial H for Hero Volume 2: New Heroes of Metropolis trade (June 3), Justice League of America by Brad Meltzer: The Deluxe Edition hardcover (June 10), and Justice League Volume 5: Justice/Doom War trade (June 17).
The solicitations don't indicate that Booster will be in Harley Quinn #73, which appears to continue the story begun in issue #70. I guess we'll find out whether that's a must-buy for Booster boosters when we get to May 6.
You can read the complete list of solicitations on Newsarama.com.

An April Full of Fools
I hope you enjoy Booster Gold's team-up with DC's omnipresent femme fatale, Harley Quinn, in March's previously-solicited Harley Quinn #71, because the team-up will be continuing this April.
Per the issue solicitation at Newsarama.com:

HARLEY QUINN #72
written by SAM HUMPHRIES
art by SAMI BASRI
cover by GUILLEM MARCH
Some mysteries just don't want to be solved! As Harley digs deeper into the death of her friend, it becomes clear that there are forces in Los Angeles that don't want her this close to the truth. Will Harley be broken by the City of Angels, or will she be able to avenge her friend's death? And will she be able to convince Booster Gold that he is not her crime-fighting partner and never will be?
ON SALE April 1, 2020 · $3.99 US
That soliciation text.... I'm choosing to believe that it's a joke, and that Booster doesn't really want to be the sidekick of the nutcase who tried to kill him in the pages of Heroes in Crisis.
I guess we'll find out the truth this April Fools Day.

Why Don't They Just Get Married Already
A "fictionalized" Booster Gold showed up at the end of Harley Quinn #66 in part to satisfy the title's obligatory "Year of the Villain" crossover event.
The next month, in Harley Quinn #67, faux Booster returned as justification for a trip through the DC Universe's never-ending series of "Crisis" events. (Was this the same "fictionalized" Booster seen in the previous issue, or a different interpretation? It's impossible to tell, so assume whatever you like.)
Finally, this March, it looks like the "real" Harley and Booster will finally cross paths for the first time since Heroes in Crisis.
Per the issue solicitation at Newsarama.com:

HARLEY QUINN #71
written by SAM HUMPHRIES
art by SAMI BASRI
cover by RILEY ROSSMO
Harley thought a little trip to Los Angeles would help her cope with grief, but grief followed her all the way to the West Coast. When a new friend of hers dies, she knows in her heart there is foul play at work. She'll have to put down her mallet and pick up a magnifying glass to prove her friend was murdered. And will Booster Gold help her investigation or only hinder it?
ON SALE March 4, 2020 · $3.99 US
Attention DC: you had me at Skeets on the cover.
Thanks to Rob Snow for alerting me to this coming event.

Move Along
It's a good thing that February is the shortest month of the year, because it doesn't look like we'll be seeing any new Booster Gold comics in February 2020 if DC's solicitations are correct.
The only place I see Booster is in a reprint collection, and it doesn't even ship until March!
HARLEY QUINN VOL. 4: THE FINAL TRIAL
"Year of the Villain" arrives in Harley Quinn, even if Harley is doing her best to avoid it! Lex Luthor has an "offer" for Harley, and he won't take no for an answer—so get ready for Harley-er Quinn! And Harley asks the inevitable question—who is DC's "Villain of the Year"? It's an award-show like no other, as DC's best of the worst celebrate themselves in the Hall of Doom, with the winners picked by the fans! Collects Harley Quinn #64, 65, 66, 67, 6869 and Harley Quinn: Villain of the Year #1, including alternate pages.
ON SALE March 25, 2020
Maybe Booster boosters will have better luck next month.

Catching Up on Coming Attractions
I've been so wrapped up in video games lately that I've been remiss in updating you on upcoming Booster Gold appearances. So grab a pen and paper (or however you keep track of what you'll be buying from your Local Comic Shop in the weeks ahead) and make note of these fine DC Comics publications:
SUPERMAN #17
written by BRIAN MICHAEL BENDIS
art by KEVIN MAGUIRE and SEAN PARSONS
Superman's new Fortress of Solitude sits in the most remote corner of the Bermuda Triangle. Constructed using Kryptonian technology far beyond anything our world knows, filled with intergalactic, pan-dimensional secrets from all over the Multiverse...how could it possibly be missing?
ON SALE November 13, 2019
I know that one doesn't sound like Booster Gold will be in it, but Brian Michael Bendis has already shared a page of Kevin Maguire's art from the issue that very clearly shows Booster Gold in at least a cameo appearance.
TALES FROM THE DARK MULTIVERSE: INFINITE CRISIS #1
written by JAMES TYNION IV
art by AARON LOPRESTI and MATT RYAN
DC's mega-event "Infinite Crisis" saw the destruction of the Trinity, the rise of Alexander Luthor and Superboy-Prime, and the rebirth of the Multiverse...but it all started with Ted Kord, the Blue Beetle, who saw it all coming and died with secrets that could've saved the world. But...things happened differently in the Dark Multiverse! Not only does Blue Beetle survive— he thrives! And after killing Maxwell Lord himself, Ted sets off a chain of events that irreversibly alters the lives of the Justice League and his best friend, Booster Gold. In trying to prevent a crisis, Blue Beetle becomes the Crisis...and the Dark Multiverse will never be the same.
ON SALE November 27, 2019
I think it's awfully nice of DC to let James Tynion rewrite Booster Gold Volume 2 #6. (Golly. That issue came out 11 years ago. There is probably a whole generation of readers who haven't read it. Go read the classics, kids!)
SUPERMAN: HEROES #1
written by BRIAN MICHAEL BENDIS, MATT FRACTION, JODY HOUSER, and GREG RUCKA
art by KEVIN MAGUIRE, STEVE LIEBER, MIKE PERKINS and others
cover by BRYAN HITCH
Lois Lane, Jimmy Olsen, the staff of the Daily Planet, even the Justice League—their lives all changed when Superman revealed his secret identity to the world! This unique Superman experience explores what the identity of Clark Kent meant to those close to him—and what their relationship to Superman will be in the future. All the rules are about to change—and it all starts here.
ON SALE January 29, 2020
Again, that text doesn't sound like Booster plays much of a role, but he is included (barely) in the solicited cover art. That's not nothing.
In addition to those new appearances (and Harley Quinn #67 — more on that on Wednesday), don't forget that Booster will also be appearing in several previously announced reprint collections.
- Booster Gold: The Big Fall (collecting the first story of Booster Gold series one), November 27
- Justice League International: Born Again (collecting early issues of the JLI), January 15
- Justice League: Corporate Maneuvers (collecting Justice League Quarterly #1 through #4), February 2
That's a lot of Booster. Everything is coming up Gold!
