Because they obviously have the script there given the Booster Gold TV show and the astounding number of people that want to get Blue Beetle on TV. I have always attributed Booster Gold's appearance on Smallville to the popularity of Blue Beetle, but that is just me.

NO, believe me bro I'm not excited about the New Universe, it's a marketing gimmick meant to draw in the people who don't like comics, but only alienated the actual fans who love this stuff.<br />Flashpoint was pretty much crap and the new 52 is even worse.<br />I was just enjoying the first well written issue of JLI, by Johns. It had some interesting elements and some clever scenes. Jurgens is incapable of pulling that off, he is trying to be a sincere Stan Lee and post 1980's that's not gonna cut it.<br />Again, I'm a big booster fan but DC is ruining their own list by cutting off the continuity that the fanboys like me love.<br />Marketing consultants told them to expand their brand and get into USA Today with their stupid reboot. It will shoot them in the foot just like they deserve.<br />As for Booster, it's nice to see they are bringing the time travel element back that was so well used in 52 and 52 pick up. That was booster at his best, at least his best since the JL with beetle and geffen.<br />Again, please keep up the good work on the blog!<br />XYQ

After NuDC screw up, even Sci-Fi The Arrow looks promising. I can't wait for it start, less then half a month! <br /><br /> And I can't wait for it fail so that they move on with Booster Gold series! Because you just can't go wrong about Gold ^_^

Syfy has Booster Gold. But it's on the CW that Arrow will air!<br />Syfy: Warehouse 13, Eureka, Haven, Alphas..<br />CW: Smallville, Supernatural<br />Now the same channel!<br /><br />Just point out :P

I enjoyed it, but it was no masterpiece as it careened wildly between buddy cop action film and broadly-played slapstick comedy. I spent the entire movie asking "how did this movie get made?" I figured it was because someone wanted to work with someone else. Afterwards, I heard that Bruce Willis has wanted to work with Kevin Smith. Add that to the facts that Kevin Smith did not write the script and his longtime production partner Scott Mosier declined to participate, and I think you can see where this thing went off the rails.

I still need and want to see Cop Out... It might not be the best of Kevin Smith, but the worst of K.Smith will always be more entertaining than the best of, say, Michael Bay!

It's funny--I hadn't heard the "Bruce Willis wanted to work with Kevin Smith" thing before, but I do know that according to an interview on Marc Maron's WTF podcast, Smith was ecstatic to work with Willis--until production started, when Smith found him to be a prima donna who refused to do anything he was asked, including pose for the movie poster!

I remember Pauly Shore on MTV and found him very, very annoying there. I've also seen BIODOME, and found everything very, very annoying there. I think SON IN LAW might be the first Pauly Shore anything that I've ever seen that didn't irritate me.

Oh, Beetle and Booster in a walk. Access to far superior technology and Booster should be immune to conventional weapons (as long as the Joker isn't involved). Plus, the blue and gold would be so distracting with their witty quips! Course, they would loose a popularity contest hands down.

as much as I love Blue & Gold, I gotta go with Iron Man and War Machine since Tony Stark is one of the smartest peolpe in the Marvel universe, and Rhodey is a tactical genius, I'm not saying Blue & Gold would lose for sure since Ted is a genius as well, and Booster's bufoon act is certainly there to hide his potential from the enemy, but in the end, the Marvel heroes just have more firepower (and only Booster has a shield) once Ted goes down (and he would at some point) Booster would surely be outmaneuvered

Ooh, that's telling those Iron Man fans, Harry. Maybe now they'll go away before you are forced to taunt them a second time. Though I suspect that most Iron Man supporters have already left to watch the current film starring their hero rather than linger here for quotations from a comedy classic about iron-clad men released 35 years ago today!

it's merely a flesh wound btw, Iron Man is about the only title I read from Marvel, its the only thing that keeps me half interested in whatever event they throw. I do like the Blue & Gold, but being intellectually honest, I still have to give IM and WM the edge (though it would be close due to Booster's ability to improvise and think on his feet)

The way I see it, the match pretty well boils down to Booster Gold vs. Iron Man, as Blue Beetle's physical vulnerability and War Machine's inflexible (shall I say bloodthirsty?) mindset are relatively easily exploited. Booster Gold has an insurmountable physical defense via his impenetrable force field and employs sufficient power to dismantle an armored tank with ease. Iron Man cannot match Booster Gold for straight power, but could defeat him via strategic thinking, especially given Booster's tendency towards straightforward tactics, his terrific ego, and need for public approval. I call the matchup a push, and grant victory to the side with the greater time to plan.

holy crap, I just noticed my previous posts were labeled anonymous, I'm not sure how that happened, but I take responsibility for the pro-Iron Man sentiment expressed above though I concede that the fight could go either way, I maintain that if they were to fight 10 times, Iron Man would probably win more than half the time. though it would never be an easy victory
