DC is scheduled to release the softcover trade collection of Justice League International issues 23 through 30 today. If you don't already have these, now's a pretty good time to pick 'em up, especially seeing as how they include the first solo Blue and Gold story (JLI #25).

I recently dug out my comic books from my teen years and skimmed through them. I realized that JLI 25 was probably most responsible for my fondness of the Blue and Gold. It has flaws (as pointed out by reviews on this site) in the art and execution... but for this teenager, the tale served to really humanize the two characters. They came across as real people living in the world of gods. Combined with their previous antics and history, this issue brings me twenty years later to this website.

consider this one already sold and on its way to my house, I love rereading JLI stuff, and the trades make it so much easier to read at one time without digging through my comics to find single issues

You will probably not be surprised to hear that I've got all the JLI issues (International, America, Europe, Quarterly, Specials) in one convenient long box not far from arms' reach. I know that I'm biased, but even the worst of them is better than the current angst-ridden JLoA run.

I haven't read all of the JLI era books, but I will agree that the JLA recently has been on a down note since Meltzer left, and if Cry for Justice is any indication, the future doesn't look very bright, but hey, there is always Generation Lost to look forward to.

It appears that I'm not the only one who would rather have a Flight Ring than a rainbow of fruit-flavored Lantern rings. ComicsAlliance.com reports on a fan-driven postcard drive to give DC a piece of our mind. I love the delicious irony of an old-school postcard campaign to encourage someone to produce an artifact of future-tech. Details on where you can send your postcard (and you ARE sending a postcard) can be found over at svengalilad.blogspot.com.

I love plastic rings, I already got my rainbow, and will soon get my Flash ring, and hopefully the postcards work and I get me a Legion ring (maybe it will be the real deal, I can't wait to be able to fly to work)

I am commanded, so I will do. Of course, they are likely to offer the ring with the new LoSH comic and not Booster. I would have like to see a ring promotion kick off Giffen's run on issue 30.
Boosterrific [Official Comment] posted on Mar. 3, 2010 at 3:04 PM
I'm not picky about what comics they choose to promote with LoSH Flight Rings. They could bundle it with The Warlord for all I care. JUST GET ME THOSE RINGS! I want to look like Hal Jordan on the cover of GL v3 #49. Bwah-ha-ha!

LOL. May it be so (and post a picture if you do!).

So now that the comic book featuring the wealthiest hero in comics is the most valuable comic book in history, how much longer before the greediest hero in comics, Booster Gold, makes an appearance in 'Tec 27? Booster's already appeared in Killing Joke, Countdown to Infinite Crisis, and Teen Titans #2, and he will soon pop into the events of Superman #80 (not to mention appearances behinds the scenes at Zero Hour and Crisis on Infinite Earths), so it can't be too long before he pops into another issue pivotal to DC history. With the upcoming return of Bruce Wayne, it seems like a pretty good time for Booster to visit the classics.

I would love to see Booster pop up in the first battle with Starro and be considered for original membership in the JLA in the events of Brave and the Bold #28 (due to some time based deus ex machina nobody remembers but our loveable hero)

Hmm, that sounds a lot like the entire premise behind the deceased Justice Leaguer Triumph. You know, having Booster interact with Triumph in BatB 28 would probably make a pretty enjoyable story for those of us who are addicted to continuity. Good suggestion.
tiggerpete posted on Mar. 2, 2010 at 7:31 AM
yeah, I would love to see a Booster Triumph team-up, maybe get Grant Morrison to guest write it? (or not, but co-written by Morrison would be pretty interesting)
Harry posted on Mar. 3, 2010 at 2:54 PM
I like both these ideas. What I would like to see is someone remember Booster from one of his visits to the past. I don't need much, just one mainstream reminder that Booster is working hard. Maybe Barry Allen saying, "Hey, I recognize that costume", or something like that.

Ms. Berger has been an editor at DC for awhile (a long while), and her birthday is significant to this site mainly because news of it accidentally led me to discovering a bug in the artists output page. Since pointing out flaws is a major component of every editor's job, it just goes to show how good she is at her job. So everyone wish Ms. Berger a very happy birthday.

Today, a treat for those of you who may be interested in money, statistics, or the inner working of a fan website. Ads were added to Boosterrific one month ago yesterday, and the totals are in. In a month of whoring ourselves out Booster Gold style, we've earned... $1.08. Ads on Boosterrific are brought to you by Google, and Google won't even consider this an actual revenue-generating website until it has acquired $10 in credit. At the present rate, that's November 2010. However, Google won't actually cut a check until we've acquired $100 in credit. At the present rate, that's not until May 2018. So mark your calendars: come 2018, we'll be partying like it's 1999.

Welcome to the site Phil. I used (still use) it to fill in my period of Booster knowledge gap (1991 - 2005). Very helpful.
What determines if you get ad revenue Boosterrific?
Boosterrific [Official Comment] posted on Feb. 27, 2010 at 8:35 PM
With Google Adsense the ad space here at Boosterrific is available for auction to the highest bidder via Google's Adwords program. So someone who thought that visitors to Boosterrific would make viable advertising targets would pay Google their bid price each time a visitor to Boosterrific clicked on an ad to travel to the advertiser's website. In theory Google would then kickback a percentage of that bid price to Boosterrific. So we make money when a lot of people come to Boosterrific and then click ads to travel to other people's websites.
The Amazon ads around the site are different. A visitor has to actually click the ad and then buy a product from Amazon for Amazon to offer any kickback. We've hosted Amazon ads for over a year with zero activity: some clicks, but nothing that has apparently lead directly to a purchase.
Ideally, the site should be partnered with comic book store advertisers, so that visitors could turn around and buy comic books that they see on the site. But Boosterrific doesn't yet generate the kind of traffic necessary to attract that kind of advertising. (Hence the implementation of the blog and comments in the hopes of luring more steady return visitors. Boosterrific.com: the slow path to world domination paying our bills one click at a time.)
Harry posted on Feb. 27, 2010 at 9:58 PM
I will make an effort to use the ad links then.

Be careful, Harry, or you'll ruin the timetable for our party!
tiggerpete posted on Feb. 28, 2010 at 1:29 AM
there are definitely some comics on here I don't have and would like to get, so links to comic sellers would be perfect, I would definitely be interested in that if it were available (plus I like this site, and would like to keep it going)

Back when I was young, supporting the things that you liked was the American (i.e. Capitalist) way to keep a business alive. These days, maybe I should mismanage this site into the ground and wait for a bailout. Don't worry, tiggerpete, I'm not planning on going anywhere. I didn't work my way up to become one of the world's foremost authorities on Booster Gold for nothing! (Apparently, I did it for $1.08!)
