Graeme McMillan and George Marston have ranked "The 10 Best TIME-TRAVELING SUPERHEROES of All Time!" for Newsarama.com, and — spoilers! — Booster Gold heads the list.

Perhaps comic books' top time-traveling superhero, Booster Gold may have started off his superheroic career with one simple time jump, but since then, he's teamed with Rip Hunter — who may or may not have been Booster's son — to protect the timestream from unwanted changes, only to fall victim to the rewriting of all DCU history via the "New 52," where he's traveled into the past to meet Jonah Hex, and later went back to the future as part of Justice League 3001.

That's a drastic oversimplification of what passes for continuity at DC Comics these days (especially considering that the picture chosen to accompany the article is Booster Gold as Waverider from the nearly forgotten Convergence mini-series), but I can't quibble with their choice.

Booster Gold is unequivocally the best time-traveling super hero of all time whether anyone else has heard of him or not.

Not so long ago, someone asked me if I could make a list of the best Booster Gold stories that weren't in Booster Gold or Justice League series. That was on my mind as I was compiling the Boosterrific list of "featured" stories I mentioned in Monday's post. The answer is: it's a short list.

3. Action Comics #933-998 (2018)
2. Countdown to Infinite Crisis #1 (2005)
1. 52 #1-52 (2006)

Almost every other great Booster Gold story takes place in his self-titled series or alongside his Justice League super friends. Which, let me emphasize, is not a bad thing.

My favorite Booster Gold comic is his first featured JLI appearance, Justice League #4. I always get a kick out of his misadventures on KooeyKooeyKooey with Blue Beetle in Justice League America #34 and as the field general of the Conglomerate in Justice League Quarterly #1. And what Booster booster doesn't love the work creator Dan Jurgens has done filling Michael Jon Carter's life with supporting characters like as Broderick, as seen in Booster Gold Volume 1, #18?

If you're looking for the best Booster Gold adventures outside the usual places, read the books I listed above. They're good, I promise. But please remember to enjoy Booster Gold wherever you find him. He rarely disappoints.

Booster booster CDN points our attention to a YouTube video from whatculture.com, where Booster Gold has managed to make his way near the top of another list, this time for comics characters with the best motivations.

Booster Gold starts near the 8:00 minute mark

It seems to me that despite not having his own comic, Booster Gold appears to be pretty well known and much more widely respected these days than in years past. That's probably thanks mostly to his being included prominently in recent Batman and Justice League cartoons in his "Greatest Hero You've Never Heard Of" time policeman persona.

To think that Booster, once a laughingstock and perennial B-lister, will be idolized by the upcoming generation of comics readers... that's pretty cool.

I think by now you all know how I feel about comics blog ComicBookResource's soul-stripping rebranding to cbr.com (which is part of why it's taken me over a week to find the place to post this). However, in this modern world without any Booster Gold/Blue Beetle comics, I have to at least give them credit for reminding fans that a Blue and Gold pairing once existed and was awesome.

Visit cbr.com to read Matthew Stevens' deeply insightful "15 Superhero Buddy Movies We Want to See." I don't agree with his choice for number 1, but if there's any value to opinionated clickbait lists, it's that they generate some enjoyable, good-natured discussion between comics fans, right?
