I'm Sure He Gave the Cops His Autograph
I had decided that I was going to buy Multiversus: Collision Detected #1 after I read the preview at AIPTComics.com over the weekend and saw Captain Carrot on the first page. Still, I was surprised when I walked into my Local Comic Shop on Wednesday and they had already pulled the issue for me.
Was it possible that they, too, had seen the Zoo Crew's fearless leader and recognized that he was high on the list of obscure DC characters I religiously follow? Actually, no. What they saw that told them I was an easy Multiversus mark was not on page 1 but page 17:
Words by Bryan Q. Miller; art by Jon Sommariva, Matt Herms, Marshall Dillon
That is not really a Booster Gold appearance, but it does merit a mention here on the Boosterrific Blog (and a worthy addition to my personal comic collection).
Big thanks to my Local Comic Shop for keeping an eye out for my peculiar tastes. That's good Capitalism!

Just Like Old Times
Reminder to everyone: After moving to Tuesdays during the pandemic, DC is back to Wednesday releases starting today.
This would be bigger news if there was a Booster Gold comic coming out today, but today also marks the official start of DC's annual event, "Absolute Power," and unless our hero puts in a cameo in one of the many, many tie-ins (34 and counting so far!), we're not expecting him to make his appearance in that until Wonder Woman #13 in September. ["We" were wrong. See update below.]
So you'll have to find something else to enjoy this New Comic Day. May I suggest those sweet Jose Luis Garcia-Lopez turnaround alternate artist spotlight covers on Batman and Shazam? Or the Kevin Maguire variant cover for Kurt Busiek's new comic? Or Geoff John's long awaited JSA #10?
But I don't need to tell you. If you're reading Boosterrific!, you love comics. I'm sure you will find yourself something to read.
UPDATE: As Rob Snow has pointed out to me, Booster Gold is seen on multiple pages in today's Absolute Power #1. Hooray!

Snakes... Why'd It Have to Be Snakes?
You know how there's that one thing you can't stand, but you have to suck it up and get through that thing to continue the pursuit of your personal holy grail (or, as the case may be, the Ark of the Covenant)?
Well, Booster Gold appears on the cover of one comic in DC's September solicitations as seen at AIPTComics.com):
WONDER WOMAN #13
Written by TOM KING
Art by TONY S. DANIEL
Cover by TONY S. DANIEL
$4.99 US | 40 pages | Variant $5.99 US (card stock)
ON SALE 9/18/24
ABSOLUTE POWER TIE-IN!
Gamorra found! Wonder Woman and Robin have finally located Amanda Waller’s super jail holding the powerless heroes they once fought alongside. Can the new dynamic duo break them out before they become trapped themselves? An undercover ally may hold the key to everything!
Note that the solicitation text doesn't explicitly say that Booster Gold will be in the book. He might be only on Tony Daniel's cover. I guess we'll find out in September.
Thank to Rob Snow for the bittersweet news that I'm order to keep my complete collection of Booster Gold comics going, I'll be buying yet another Tom King-written comic book.

New (Last Week) Release: Wonder Woman 7
Rasalonn writes
Hi hi. Did you see the panel in the new Wonder Woman comic? Superman and Wonder Woman go to a space mall to buy Batman a present. And the only thing they can both agree on is they refuse to buy Batman the Booster Gold autobiography! The book store even promotes Booster Gold will be there that day. Batman is missing out not getting that book!
The issue that Rasalonn is talking about is last week's Wonder Woman #7, and this is the panel:
As Rasalonn describes, the story, titled "Gifted," is (mostly) about Superman and Wonder Woman searching for the perfect birthday gift for Batman. It is written by Tom King, who also once wrote a story about Booster Gold trying to give Batman the perfect gift and failing. That story is called "The Gift." I happen to agree with Superman and Wonder Woman that it's best not to remind Batman (or anyone, for that matter) of that fiasco, and I apologize for now having done so.
No, I had not seen this, Rasalonn. Thanks for pointing it out.
