Ask Dan DiDio
Yesterday, we saw that Geoff Johns told us to ask Dan DiDio when we'd be getting a new Booster Gold comic. So Booster booster Gio3432 did just that on Twitter.

And he got the following answer:

I like that answer. Really, it's just as ambiguous as Johns' answer was, but "working on it" is much more comforting to hear than "Buster who?"
Thanks for the update, Gio! (Gio3432 posted the news in the Boosterrific Forum yesterday).

Digging up the Past at Al Baleed
Last week I got a tweet from Brian Miller, who you may know as @hificolor or the colorist on Booster Gold, volume 2.
June 12 — @boosterrific Not comic related, I created art for an archaeological dig. Appreciate if you tweet or blog about it. http://igg.me/at/frankincense
While this isn't strictly comic related, what could be more Boosterrific than a Booster Gold artist trying to raise money through merchandising? Of course I'll blog about it!
Visit Miller's campaign at indiegogo.com to find out where in the world Al Baleed, Oman, is and why anyone should want to be digging there. Contributors who pledge $30 or more to help the archaeological excavation before July 5 will receive a 13" x 19" lithograph (pictured at left) created and signed by Miller.
Get yourself a neat-o piece of art and give to a good cause — science! What more could anyone ask for?

Super Booster Gold Sketch from Phoenix Comicon
Finishing up this week of long-overdue professional fan art posts is this gem coming out of Phoenix Comicon last month. This one I intentionally held it until the end of this week in order to coincide with the annual Superman Celebration now underway in Metropolis, Illinois.
Jonah Hex is nice, but who could be a better team-up for Booster Gold and Skeets than Superman? Makes you look forward to what might be coming from DC for Booster Gold volume 3.
According to Norm Rapmund, who posted this image to his Twitter media gallery, this bit of art was something that he and Dan Jurgens did "for fun." Jurgens did pencil art that Rapmund finished with inks and Brian Miller (aka Hi-Fi Designs) provided color. What a super team!
You can find a larger, better version of this image (and a pre-colored b&w copy of the inks) at Twitter.com/NormRapmund.

Heard It Through the Grapevine
When you put Captain America in a poll of fan favorites, there's a pretty good chance he's going to come in first. (Curt, just go ahead and pretend that General Glory won.)
Last week's poll question: Who is your favorite time-displaced hero in comics (besides Booster Gold)? (51 votes)
It's been a busy week for Booster Gold fans. First Bleeding Cool breaks the news that DC is working on the Booster Gold volume 3 comic book. Then Andrew Kreisberg told @UniversoDC1 on Twitter that the latest pilot script for the Booster Gold television show is going to SyFy "next week." Big Booster Gold comic and TV news in one week? Whoo-hoo!

New Booster Gold Series Definitely Happening
Saturday, Rich Jonhston posted the following at BleedingCool.com:
Coming out from the Greenest Night celebration last night in Los Angeles for the work of Geoff Johns on Green Lantern, comes the news gathered by some that we are to expect a Booster Gold series in the imminent future from DC Comics.
No word on concept, or creators.
Is there any truth to this rumor? Bleeding Cool does not shy away from admitting that it is full of an unidentified jumble of "news, gossip and rumour." Which category best fits this story?
The veracity of the article was challenged on Twitter, but Johnston defended the statement as "passed by relevant people at DC and DC PR before publication." Defending an unsourced rumor as coming from "relevant people" is probably not the best way to build confidence.
This is not even the first time this year that a new Booster Gold comic has been teased at Bleeding Cool. Whether that makes this news more or less believable is further matter for debate.
I want to believe that it is true (for obvious reasons). Therefore, until DC confirms or denies, I'm going to assume that Booster Gold Volume 3 will be coming to my Local comic Shop later this year.
