New Release: Green Lantern 2
Thanks to everyone who called my attention to the Booster Gold reference in AIPTcomics.com preview for this week's Green Lantern #2:

"No answer"? Booster's nowhere to be seen these days even by the inhabitants of the DCU!
By the way, this is the seventh volume of Green Lantern comics — the sixth to prominently feature Hal Jordan. Booster's only had two! Booster is 26 years younger than Hal (debuting in 1985 and 1959, respectively), but he's still going to need a new volume of issues every five years just to catch up.
Look on the bright side: that's a lot of adventures for readers to look forward to!

Doggone It
After I learned that my second favorite superhero, the leader of the funny animal Zoo Crew, Captain Carrot, played a pivotal role in Harley Quinn #30 two weeks ago, I decided to look back at the previous issue to see if the good Captain was in that one, too.
Carrot wasn't. But Booster was. Or, I should say *a* Booster was.
There in the top left of page 30, that's the hypothetical hyena-Booster of some imaginary Earth proposed by a figment of Harley's imagination in Adam Warren's "Hyena Anxiety" backup story.
Although now that the DC Multiverse is infinite again, I guess every imaginary Earth, even the ones from dreams and trippy hyena thought experiments, have to exist somewhere. And comic books being what they are, that pretty much means a Booster Gold / hyena-Booster Gold team-up is inevitable. Does that mean I should go ahead and start a distinct continuity for hyena-Booster?
Oh, Harley. You don't need a mallet to make my head hurt.

New Release: Flash 799
Don't let that headline mislead you; I'm not expecting to see Booster Gold in this week's The Flash #799. But as the issue preview now available at AIPTComics.com demonstrates, we will definitely be seeing Gold Beetle:

As I said a few weeks ago, I'm expecting we'll see Gold Beetle again on June 6 in The Flash's "extra-sized" final issue #800. (Don't worry, DC is restarting Flash with a whole new number one in September... because, um, the number one is cooler.)
What I was NOT expecting, and what I learned from reading the Flash #800 preview also already online at AIPTComics.com, is that the issue will feature an appearance by Booster Gold's long-lost second foe, Mindancer!

I can't wait to find out what she's been up to for the last 37 years!

New Old Release: 52 Pick-Up TPB
Last week, DC released its retailer solicitations for July 2023, and about the only thing I can say about it is that Booster boosters are going to be able to save a bunch of money on comic books this summer.
The only sign of our hero is the DC Vs. Vampires: All Out- War Part 2 collection, and I'd never recommend anyone should even read that, let alone buy it.
But rather than focus on our summer without Gold — there will be plenty of time for that later — let's stay positive and keep an eye on what we're getting this week: the re-release of Booster Gold: 52 Pick-Up.

DC is calling this the 2023 edition. So far as I'm aware, the only thing different from the 2008 printing is the price, but I can't begrudge that. Everything is more expensive now than it was 15 years ago.
In fact, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, what cost you $14.99 in 2008 should cost you $20.89 today. Turns out that Booster Gold: 52 Pick-Up 2023 Edition is a bargain! Buy a copy for everyone in your family.
UPDATE: I got an email from Marty pointing out that Skeets is on the solicited Dan Mora cover for Batman/Superman: World's Finest #17 due on July 18. That's definitely something to look forward to!

A Hard Day's Night
Since Gold Beetle is a Booster Gold legacy character, I'm sure Booster boosters everywhere will want to know that AIPTComics.com previews reveal that she's in this week's The Flash #796.
But I can't talk about it. Not yet.
You'll recall that just last week, I mentioned that The Flash #795 ended with a big reveal related to Heroes in Crisis. Well, it seems that in this week's book, Gold Beetle tells us what she's done and how.
Even though I've got a bone to pick about this particular revelation — why can't we all just agree that Heroes in Crisis never happened? — I'm not going to talk about it yet. I'm not even going to link to the preview because it definitely counts as spoiler territory (even though Heroes in Crisis came out four years ago!).
At the very least, I should read the whole story before I form a solid opinion about it. For all I know, by the end of the "One-Minute War" storyline, time travel shenanigans will have rewritten history (again). It certainly wouldn't be the first time a Flash has changed history.
Maybe this time, they can finally excise Heroes in Crisis from all continuities. That would be nice.
