Will Booster Gold get his own series back? Where's Dan Jurgens going? Will we ever see Skeets again???

Welcome Home, Geoff Johns
On Friday, DC announced via their blog that Justice League International Annual #1 will be shipping August 29, 2012. DC promises that "the ramifications of this [issue] will be felt across the board," but the best part of this news is that Geoff Johns will be co-writing the book.
Johns is probably on-board for this one-shot because the issue will tie-in with his regular gig as writer of Justice League (issue #12, specifically). For his part, co-writer DiDio is probably on-board to tie-off some loose ends dangling from the his recently-canceled gig as writer of OMAC. Fans of either series should be excited about the crossover potential here, especially since Johns and DiDio are Chief Creative Officer and Co-Publisher of DC Comics, respectively, and therefore are in a position to see that what happens in their issue of JLI is relevant to events throughout the company.
If the solicitation cover is any indication, it looks like the first thing that the powerful pair has done is ensure that Booster Gold no longer has any gold on his cowl. That's already a change for the better.

Support Your Local Comic Shop
Tomorrow is Free Comic Book Day, a national promotional event where many comic book stores will be giving away some specially prepared merchandise for free*!
DC's offering this year is a "preview" of the Second Wave books that were released this past week. While there is no evidence to suggest that Booster Gold will be appearing in this preview issue, I'm sure Booster wouldn't mind if you dropped by to support your Local Comic Shop.
There are more than 40 different titles being offered from dozens of publishers this year. Even if you're fed up with the New 52 (I just read Green Arrow #9, and let's just say I'll never make that mistake again), maybe you'll find something new that you do like.
A list of participating stores can be found at freecomicbookday.com.
*The fine print: Please remember that shops do have to buy these "free" books. The books are intended to be free to you the consumer, not free to retailers. If you want to see this annual event continue, consider buying something to make it worth the retailer's expense and effort, even if it's just a second copy of Justice League International #9!]

Rolling Back the Years
According to DC Women Kicking Ass, the rumor that DC will be re-numbering all titles again has been confirmed at this past weekend's Boston Comic Con:
This afternoon at the Boston Comic Con a number of creators in the new 52 discussed various aspects of the reboot while confirming the story from Bleeding Cool earlier this week that DC will issue "0" issues in September that will feature origins or stories about the characters or their casts that happened before issue #1.
Is re-numbering to become an annual ploy with DC, or do DC's editors really think that 1994's Zero Hour crossover gimmick deserves a 18th Anniversary edition? For the record, this will be the third #0 issue to feature Booster Gold: Justice League International #0 in 2012, Booster Gold #0 in 2008, and Extreme Justice #0 in 1994 (which, running counter to DC's practice of interrupting sequences with randomly placed zero issues, was actually published before Extreme Justice #1)!
On the plus side, if there is ever a time to find out how much of Booster Gold's history and supporting cast survived Flashpoint, it'll be a zero-issue origin story. Oh, Skeets, why have you forsaken us?

Nothing to See Here
No, this is not a post about the new DC logo. Which as I'm sure you would expect, I don't like, mainly because to me it says "facebook digital widget" instead of "imaginative entertainment." Look no further than DC's Twitter feed here to see a practical example of how hard this new design is to read and how little information it conveys.
But back to the original point of this post: as mentioned recently, Boosterrific.com is going through some continued server maintenance. The site will be migrated to a new server at some point during this weekend. This will definitely result in some down-time for the site, and the forum will likely be closed for most of the weekend. Hopefully, everything can be restored to function in its new home by Monday.
In the meantime, everyone try to enjoy your non-Boosterrific weekend, no matter what DC looks like.
