New Old Release: Futures End Vol 1
This time next week, we'll be talking about the return of Blue and Gold in Justice League 3000, so I'd like to take this opportunity to spotlight another book shipping next week.
The New 52: Futures End Volume 1 will be collecting the first eighteen issues of Futures End. That will include Booster Gold's only appearance in the series so far:
So if you've been waiting for the trades to get involved in DC's latest mega event, the future is next Wednesday.

Secret Origins: Bwah-Ha-Ha
Matt Santori-Griffith has started "Super Buddies," a series of articles exploring "enduring comic book friendships" for Comicosity.com. Naturally, his first pairing is Blue Beetle and Booster Gold.
Matt invited Keith Giffen and J.M. DeMatteis, the original writers of Justice League International, to have a chat about the origins of comicdom's favorite comedy duo.
Matt Santori-Griffith: So, you guys have been writing Blue Beetle and Booster Gold for a long time. Going all the way back to when they first met in Justice League, when do you feel they first started to click as a friendship for you?
Keith Giffen: I know when I felt it. It was the sequence when they first met Catherine Cobert. One of them made a fool of himself and the other just wouldn't stop laughing.
J.M. DeMatteis: Was that "Moving Day" [Justice League International #8]?
KG: I'm thinking it was. That was the issue where everything clicked.
JMD: Yeah. That also, if I'm not mistaken, was the first "Bwah-ha-ha."
That's true. The first appearance of Beetle's signature laugh was indeed at Booster's expense in JLI #8. That's the stuff that friendships are made of!
You can (and should) read the rest of the article (with pictures!) at Comicosity.com. (And don't forget to pick up the return of Blue and Gold in Justice League 3000 #12 next week!)

The Reason They Invented the Internet
So here's how this comic book character blogging thing works:
Earlier this week, I paid a visit to The Irredeemable Shag's FirestormFan.com, which just happened to be running a post on the "Great Heroes" DC trading cards from 1987. They were trading cards printed on backing boards included with 3-pack comic books in the late 1980s. I'd never heard of these before. Could there be a Booster Gold?
For more information, I followed Shag's link to CosmicTeams.com, where, thanks to the assistance of Michael Kooiman, I can now show you this, the first Booster Gold trading card, copyright 1989:
The card was just one of 8 on its original board. You can see a picture of the whole board at Kooiman's slideshow of the entire set at ComicTeams.com.
This card has been added to the Boosterrific.com archive of Other Media appearances. But while Michael was giving me the pic for the card above, he graciously forwarded a great scan of the one and only Booster Gold pog from SkyBox in 1993!
My thanks to Michael (and Shag!) for helping make Boosterrific.com more complete than ever.

Being Thankful For 2014
That's a pretty even split among the options. I hope we get real answers sooner rather than later.
Last week's poll question: How does the announcement that Dan Jurgens will be writing the Superman mini-series during Convergence impact Booster Gold? (47 votes)
As for today's poll, I asked a very similar question last year. Let's see if time has changed anything.
