ANNOTATIONS

Page 1, panel 2
Booster Gold is among the heroes assembled at the JLA North America Embassy to hear Aztek's description of Mageddon. Other heroes pictured include Black Canary, Blue Beetle, Flash I, Mister Miracle, and Red Tornado. Booster Gold's costume has been corrected since the previous issue, and he now clearly wears his asymmetrical Mark XI power-suit.

Page 2, panel 1
It becomes clear that many other heroes are also assembled at the meeting, but only Captain Atom and Firestorm are clearly depicted.

Page 2, panel 2
Booster Gold and Blue Beetle Joke with one another about Beetle's weight problem. Though resolved long ago (in Justice League Quarterly #6), the situation is clearly a subject of lingering mirth for the pair. Once upon a time, Beetle and Booster would have been terrified of the scope of the problem that they face, but now they handle the gravity of the situation with subdued aplomb. This is the last panel of this comic book to include Booster Gold.

Page 2, panel 3
More heroes seen are Elongated Man, Nightwing, and Warrior. Soon Captain Marvel and Green Lantern V will arrive.

Page 3, panel 2
Green Lantern has brought with him Lex Luthor. In the background, Nuklon, Supergirl, Superboy, Ray, and Zatanna are visible. Despite the suggestion of many more heroes, being present, these are all that can be identified.

REVIEWS

Boosterrific Review: I'm not sure what exactly is happening, but something is certainly going down. Writer Grant Morrison succeeds tremendously in delivering a story that feels both massive in scope and significant in consequence, a feat few writers manage in epic stories such as this. Even if you don't quite understand all of the angles, you can trust that the characters involved have a better grasp of the situation than you do and will act accordingly. You can't really ask for much more than that in a Morrison-written comic book.
