How Much Do You Miss Skeets?
I read the responses to this poll to say that most of you still care about what else goes on beyond the front door, even if there's not much cause to update it regularly. (Seriously, DC. We need Booster Gold more than three issues a year!)
Last week's poll question: How often do you visit a page at Boosterrific.com other than the blog? (54 votes)
I was re-reading "Argo," and I was reminded that we've barely seen Skeets since Flashpoint. Of course, when Geoff Johns last wrote for our hero, he reduced Skeets to a Independence Day-style plot device. Is that all DC has in mind for the best sidekick in comics history?

Division of Labor
Better luck next month.
Last week's poll question: Do you believe the rumor that Booster Gold will be getting a new ongoing in June? (54 votes)
Today's question is for housekeeping purposes in a world without ongoing Booster Gold comic book appearances.

It's Not My Fault
For the past 5 weeks (since November 5th!), no one has left a comment on a post here at Boosterrific.com. I had decided not to panic. There hasn't been a Booster Gold comic in months, so why should anyone have anything to say around here? Turns out it wasn't you, it was me.
Longtime Booster booster Eyz sent me an email early this morning with a particular complaint:
For a while (a month? perhaps a bit longer..) I haven't been able to comment on Boosterrific. Every time I write a comment and I press the submit button, instead of being prompted to a confirmation code ("write below the characters you see above..") a second submit button pops up. And if I press it, it reloads the page losing my comment in the process...
I looked into it, and he was absolutely right. Google had migrated their reCAPTHCA processing scripts, and I was still using the old Carnegie Mellon University links (outdated since 2010). This error was eating comments. Shame on me.
I've fixed the error and you should all be able to comment again (though you may need to force a browser refresh to clear the old scripts). It was never my intention to deactivate commenting, and I apologize if I discouraged anyone from dropping a line. In the future, should you ever find anything on this site you consider to be a bug, please let me know on the Forum or via email (webmaster at Boosterrific.com). If you think it would help for me to build a contact form page, I could do that too.
My eternal thanks, Eyz, for pointing out the malfunction.

99 Days in the Wasteland
Sadly, Saturday will mark 100 days since Booster Gold's last DCnU comic book appearance in All-Star Western #21.
Considering that the U.S. government has shutdown and the country is facing default on our debts, considering that civil war in the Middle East continues unabated, considering that religious disputes continue fanning the flames of intolerance worldwide, Booster's absence from comic books isn't really a big deal. But couldn't the world use another hero right now?
If there is one good thing to come from the U.S. government's current dysfunction, it's that the news coverage has taught me exactly how to celebrate this ignominious milestone at DC Comics. At the top of this page, you'll find a counter indicating how many days it has been since Booster's last appearance. That counter will stay in place until Booster again returns to action in the DC Universe.
Stay strong, Booster boosters! Booster will be back. And we'll keep carrying the torch until he is!
