Bwoom!
Congratulations to Blue and Gold artist Ryan Sook for finally giving me reason to sign up for an Instagram account with this very inventive announcement over the weekend on instagram.com/rsookart:
rsookart: So, yeah, this is my own personal gag about supply chain issues. But really, next issue will be there Sept. , 7! Support your LCS, retailers, publishers, and the titles you love during the snafus because even superheroes have set backs from time to time. And Booster and Beetle will be back in action ASAP!! #blueandgold #dccomics #dcuniverse #boostergold #bluebeetle #superheroes #newcomicbookday
Well, that makes it almost worth the delay, Ryan. Thank you. (Additional thanks to Rob Snow for calling this unusual Boosterrific comic strip to our attention.)
Click any of the above images to visit Sook's Instagram to see the comic in its native, one-panel-at-a-time format.

One in a Million
Booster booster Rob Snow writes to say
I don't think there's a Blue and Gold coming out in November, according to the solicits.
A thorough search of gamesradar's listing of "November DC Comics revealed: A whole lot of Batman" — ain't that always the truth? — proves Rob right.
Last we heard, Blue and Gold #4 (of 8) is currently scheduled for a October 19 release, so we would have expected to see Blue and Gold #5 the third week in November. But as we learned last month, both Kevin Maguire and Dan Jurgens will be assisting on art duties for issue 4, and perhaps that's the reason for the delay on issue 5. This wouldn't be the first time a book's release schedule had to be revised to accommodate an artist (or three).
Oh, well. Better late than never. Thanks for the alert, Rob.
While Booster Gold shows up nowhere else in DC's November solicitations, he will be appearing in the upcoming new edition of the DC One Million Omnibus, which Amazon.com expects to be selling by May 3 (as reported by BleedingCool.com).
The 1,000+ page 2022-edition of the Omnibus will sell for around $100, which may seem a bit steep for a reprint of Booster Gold #1,000,000. But Booster Gold one million is the first appearance of Peter Platinum.

There's never enough Platinum to go around!

Re-Sharing is Re-Caring
Because I'm a curmudgeonly old man, I don't have an Instagram account and cannot see the beautiful Blue and Gold art that series artist Ryan Sook is sharing via his account at instagram.com/rsookart/.
Luckily for all of us, @dailybluegold has been reposting some of those images on Twitter. And they. Are. Beautiful.

If those don't get you excited about Blue and Gold, due in your Local Comic Shop on July 20, then I don't know what will.
Maybe it's time I finally got an Instagram account. Thanks to Rob for making sure I saw those.

Speed Dating
Over the weekend, Rob "Aims To Please" Snow wrote to say:
Apparently Gold Beetle is dating Wally West's son Jai, as mentioned in the latest Flash ish
As usual, Rob has his facts straight, as you can see in these panels from The Flash #771, which sees Wally quantum leap into his son's future body for coffee with his grown daughter. (Only in comic books, amiright?)

That could very well be a reference to Gold Beetle, who crossed paths with Wally himself in The Flash #769. But let's not rule out the possibility that there will be multiple time-traveling heroes running amok in San Francisco in the 2040s. For all we know, Jai could be dating Michelle Carter.
Sidenote: I've already made a note to myself to pick up next week July 13's The Flash 2021 Annual, but not because of the Gold Beetle. Wally will be revisiting The Series That Will Not Be Named, and I have my fingers crossed we'll get at least a Booster Gold cameo. You know, the guy Wally framed for murder.

From Blue to Gold and Everything Between
As pointed out to me by Rob Snow, New York Comic Con and Metaverse Comics has released a 45-minute long video interview with Blue and Gold creators Dan Jurgens and Ryan Sook to promote the upcoming series.
The creators talk about what kind of story it will be, whether or not new fans will have any idea what's going on, and which of them feels more like Booster and which feels more like Beetle. (Spoiler Alert! It's exactly the ones you expect.) They even screenshare some artwork and script plans. I'd say it's worth a listen for die-hard Booster boosters.
If the above embed doesn't work for you, you can find the video at Facebook.com or FindTheMetaverse.com.
Thanks, Rob, Jurgens, and Ryan (and interviewer Mike Negin)! Blue and Gold is set for a late July release.
