Demand More Gold in Your Entertainment

Late last week, tracking-board.com unleashed the rumor that a Booster Gold/Blue Beetle movie in the works, and DC fans everywhere exploded with pent-up joy.

The weekend brought us no confirmation of this rumor. Warner Brothers, DC, and producer/director Greg Berlanti have all been publicly silent on the subject. That doesn't seem to have dampened fan enthusiasm.

Social media sites have been blanketed by a positive reaction to the news that DC might finally be making a superhero movie that isn't all grim 'n' gritty. So if the rumor wasn't true to begin with, maybe it is now.

Remember that studios make movies to sell them to audiences. If a lighthearted, super hero buddy comedy is what we say we want, they will give it to us.

So keep up the buzz, Booster boosters! Let's get Booster Gold the movie he deserves.

Announcing Blue and Gold: The Movie

Are you sitting down?

The Tracking Board has exclusively announced that Warner Brothers is working to make a Booster Gold/Blue Beetle movie a reality.

Booster Gold and Blue Beetle, two DC Comics superheros that have long been rumored to appear in either an upcoming film or TV show, are now being groomed for a team-up feature from Warner Bros. Sources exclusive to The Tracking Board can now confirm that Greg Berlanti, the force behind the successful DC comics TV series Arrow and The Flash, will be heavily involved with this one, set to direct and executive produce. Sarah Schechter will also executive produce, while Julia Spiro will oversee for the studio.

Adding to the news, Heroic Hollywood says that Zak Penn may be writing the screenplay.

The Tracking Board goes on to describe the project:

Based on the DC comics, a man travels from the future with stolen technology in order to become a famous superhero in the present, and teams up with a teenager who has been given superpowers from advanced alien technology called Scarab.

You may recall, Berlanti was the writer/producer behind the never-materialized Booster Gold television show announced by SyFy in 2011. Has Berlanti taken his project to Warner Brothers?

So far as I am aware, neither Warner Brothers nor Berlanti has confirmed these rumors. For what it's worth, I hope they're true.

Knee-Jerk Reactions

If Booster Gold is really the comic book equivalent of Kim Kardashian, he must be rich. (Forbes.com estimates she earned $52 million last year alone!)

Last week's poll question: Should New 52 Booster Gold return to the wealthy Corporate Crusader persona of Volume 1? (31 votes)

Should New 52 Booster Gold return to the wealthy Corporate Crusader persona of Volume 1?

This week we learned that Nathan Fillion would want to play Booster Gold in a DC movie, it seems only fair to decide whether we would want him to.

Castling Booster Gold

Look who says he wants to play Booster Gold!

Fillion wouldn't be my first choice, but probably only because he'll always be Captain Hammer to me.

Footage comes from a Firefly panel at Wizard World Chicago by way of ComicBook.com.

Booster Gold Not Coming to Legends of Tomorrow

If you were paying attention this weekend, you've probably already heard the news reported by Laurence Almalvez of The Hollywood Reporter.

"I wish I could tease a Booster thing but, you might have to wait a good long while at least on our show," said [Legends of Tomorrow showrunner Phil] Klemmer. "Perhaps Booster is being groomed for bigger things."

Or perhaps he's not. Who knows?

The nerd-baiting click farms that populate the Interwebs want you to believe that this is clear evidence that a Booster Gold movie is in the works. Don't be fooled. This isn't clear evidence of anything other than news that Booster Gold fans don't have to watch Legends of Tomorrow.

Don't worry. If there's going to be a Booster Gold movie, DC will let us know.

Find the whole article, with more information about Legends of Tomorrow at hollywoodreporter.com. Thanks to Cdn for the tip in the Boosterrific Forum.
