I have to disagree on one point, reboots are not necessary if the editorial staff does their job properly and stops putting up with garbage from the so called talent. Continuity keeps things rolling and as Booster can tell you those who ignore the past will continue to repeat it.

Fair enough. Maybe reboots aren't strictly speaking a requirement (and they do tend to be a tool used by careless custodians to clean up the mess of a job they were doing poorly), but retooling an existing concept does serve a real purpose by drawing in a younger generation disinterested in the stories of previous generations. That's not a phenomenon unique to comic books: television and movie franchises, literary series, and even the bible get revitalized from time to time in order to reach new audiences.

The ONE thing I have to say in defense of the New52 non-reboot reboot. I still don't know what they (DC Management) are aiming for (other than higher sales), and that's kind of intriguing.

Conclusion: Booster's pretty recent in this New 52 or at least didn't participate in lots of adventures with those heroes/get close to them. (specially without Ted around...)<br />So they didn't get to know him and see he is actually from the future.

That's true, Eyz. In the New 52, Booster has not been a member of the Justice League. Also, there have been no "crisis" events. That means that Booster would have fewer interaction opportunities with other heroes than before.

This is why we aren't seeing Skeets, the JLI isn't the lynchpin of the DCnU, Skeets is. It all makes sense, Skeets has become the new Oracle and is helping all these teams with information from the future. I can dream can't I?

I picked up my copy today and really enjoyed it! I'm still loving this book and am excited by the new members joining. If the solicits are to be believed, joining the team will be: OMAC, Firehawk, and Batwing.<br /><br />The only piece I struggled with in this issue was the JLI taking OMAC with them to France. From a storytellers perspective, I totally get why they needed OMAC to travel to France with them. From the perspective of someone living in this New 52 world, I felt the rational was a bit hard to swallow.<br /><br />Regardless, still a great issue with beautiful art! Loved it! I think the "Killing Joke" cover may have had something to do with the bump in sales of BG #5.<br /><br />This chart shows just how inflated the initial sales for DCnU titles were and it's being reflected in the rapid decline in sales. Either from disenchanted new readers or non-existent readers (i.e. comic shop over-orders) in the first place.

For the record, the numbers I have for JLI sales are low estimates as Diamond is reporting low for the purpose of returnable copies. Also, there is no way to calculate the numbers of digital sales for this series, a purchase option unavailable for BGv2. It is therefore possible that the sales numbers for JLI are somewhat higher than they are shown to be in the above graph, but the slope of sales decline is still likely accurate.

I'd forgotten about digital sales, that is a problem if DC doesn't publicize that data.<br />Any idea what the "official" sales figures were for the already axed titles? That might give us some basis of where DC draws the line for cancelling a relatively minor title like Mr Terrific or Sgt Rock.

To be clear, there is no "official" sales figure as DC has never publicly declared sales in the modern era. Sales estimates are based on what Diamond Comic Distributors indexed sales reports. Sales for the recently-canceled DC books were between 10,700 and 14,300 at the time of cancellation. (Not surprisingly, sales on those books fell off a cliff in the following months.)

He may indeed have been using his Flight Ring to out-accelerate Batwing, but he did not use the Flight Ring to land. Booster must have used enhanced strength/endurance to land with so much force without causing any harm to himself or Batwing.
