Statler and Waldorf in Blue and Gold
My two favorite muppets as my two favorite heroes, as sketched by illustrator Neil R King, aka BoldFacedComics on DeviantArt.com.
For the record, that's Waldorf wearing Booster's gold and Statler in Beetle blue. Those two old grumps have never dressed better.

Speaking of Dirk Davis
Great minds think alike. No sooner had I finished writing Friday's bio on Dirk Davis than I clicked over to Ross Pearsall's delightful Super-Team Family Presents... blog and found that he's also got Booster Gold's agent on his creative mind.
Mojo is an X-Men villain from another universe who, like Booster Gold, debuted in the mid-1980s as a commentary on American celebrity culture. In Mojo's case, he's a parody of a television network executive whose only desire is to get great ratings at any cost. In other words, he's a natural foe for popularity-obsessed a Booster Gold!
Great job, Ross.

The Lost Art of Dan Jurgens
Let's make a whole week out of Dan Jurgens' Twitter feed! I wouldn't normally do that, but Dan has shared some pretty good Booster Gold-related stuff lately, like this tease of the original, unused art from Booster Gold #6 (1986).
A bit of background: Booster Gold #6 was the first telling of Booster's origin story, which was originally tied more closely to the Silver Age Superman mythos. For example, the Space Museum was originally intended to be the Superman Museum, and Booster's Flight Ring was going to be the ring that the Legion of Super-Heroes gave to Superboy. (See my 2010 interview with Jurgens for more details.)
The pages seen in that tweet are very likely the original story, before Jurgens had to change it to work with the new origin that John Byrne was giving Superman in the pages of The Man of Steel. It's super-cool that Jurgens still has them. Maybe one day, he'll let us see the whole thing. (In a Booster Gold Omnibus, maybe?)
And before we sign off for the weekend, here's one more tweet from Jurgens, a Booster Gold sketch commission.
See? Twitter *is* useful for more than just rants and bullying. Thanks, Dan!

Cort's Vancouver Fan Expo Sketchbook (2019)
Booster booster and art collector Cort was at Vancouver Fan Expo last week, as he was last October and he picked up even more Boosterrific sketches. Here they are, with Cort's own commentary:

Liam Sharp, fellow Brit, said this was the first time he'd ever drawn Booster and really enjoyed it, he even asked me about the history of the character and we had quite the chat, he said he found it fascinating, one of the coolest origins he's heard. Plus I had to see how he'd tackle it, as it could be my only chance to see him do so, very grizzled! I love it.

The ever personable and great Ty Templeton was a joy to listen to. He held many interesting anecdotes of the comics industry. Signed me some Booster Gold and JLI comics too.

Tom Grummett whom was beside Ty did a fantastic Booster for me as well, it was everything I could ask for, it screams Booster Gold to me. The banter between Ty and he was very enjoyable and being able to geek out with them made me adore them all the more as they are just as much fans as we are.

And last but not least, Marcus To. Whom I only knew through some X-Men and Red Robin did a fascinating Poison Ivy for my girlfriend and all his proceeds went to the Comic Book Legal Defense Fund, so I decided to help put money towards some of the greats whom are dealing with pressing issues. Turned out great!
They all look amazing, Cort. Thank you for sharing again.
