Ben Stylized

Today's Booster Gold fan art comes from Ben Robson, aka RobsonDoodle on DeviantArt.com:

According to Ben's Deviant Art bio: "In his early years he was diagnosed with autism, but in his later years he has shown a real determination that would not allow this to hold him back."

I sure do think that New 52 costume design works better here in Ben's signature style than it did in Justice League International Volume 3. Good work, Ben.

One Night in Bangkok

Booster booster Morgenstern calls our attention to this reddit post by ablearcher013:

Quote:

A while back I started looking for a DC comics themed chessboard so I could combine 2 of my great loves (chess and comics). After seeing what was on offer, and not being a fan of any of it, I decided to make my own. How hard could it be... About a year later it's finally done. I used Funko Pops because it was the easiest way to get the characters I needed (and i liked the styling), but they wouldn't readily fit on a standard chessboard... Ok, we'll build our own chessboard! Once I realized how big a chessboard with 3.5"x3.5" squares would be I just decided to turn it into a coffee table. So after about a year of work and around $1000 of investment into it I'm finally done and pretty happy with how it came out...

I agree, M, that's pretty cool.

I find it interesting that Booster Gold was also a white pawn in the 2012 Eaglemoss chess set. Keep on keepin' on, Booster. With enough perseverance (and a little luck), maybe one of these days you can be promoted to queen.

Art Dump

Start your week with Booster Gold fan art!

First up is this image drawn by Jose Holder, a professional concept artist for Warner Bros Games. I know it says "TikTok," but clicking on the image will actually take you to the "making of" video on Instagram.com.

Second is this Justice League International vs X-Men re-imagining of Jim Lee's 1991 X-Men #3 cover by professional comic artist Kevin Maguire (drawn as a commission for Megacon, spotted on X.com by Rob Snow):

Third, because I don't want anyone to think that Booster Gold should only be drawn by pros, here's a pic of Booster (and Skeets!) by artist jaywani (whose work I have posted before) found on DeviantArt.com:

Keep drawing, everybody!

Giant Size Booster Gold

Yesterday's post at Ross Pearsall's Super-Team Family Presents... at braveandboldlost.blogspot.com pairs Booster Gold (and Skeets!) with one of the X-Men's shortest-lived members:

Super-Team Family Presents #4679

For those who don't remember, the late Thunderbird, aka John Proudstar, joined Marvel Comics' X-Men at the same time as Colossus, Nightcrawler, Storm, and some guy named Wolverine. Whatever happened to that guy?

Keep up the great work, Ross.

And while I'm in the process of pointing you to other comic book blogging sites, I absolutely must mention another one I visit multiple times a week, Mike Sterling's Progressive Ruin, which on Sunday said, and I quote: "if you want to know more about Mr. Gold, you can't do better than [Boosterrific.com]." Thanks for the kind words, Mike!

Music to My Ears

Over the weekend, I got the following message:

Hi, I made a song about Booster Gold called "The Kind Of World We're Living In"... I thought you might be interested ! It's available on most streaming platforms and my artist name is Namoratron. Your website is very cool, love Booster.

I'm a sucker for compliments, so I went looking and found Namoratron's song on youtube.com. Guess which hero was the inspiration for the album cover art?

Thanks for being a Booster Gold fan, Namoratron!
