Trixie Collins, Landlord

Readers of Blue and Gold #3 may be unaware that Booster's old secretary, Theresa Collins, has previous history of providing office space to superheroes.

It didn't go well.

Teen Titans #17 (1998), written and drawn by Dan Jurgens, saw the Teen Titans reforming under the leadership of former Justice Leaguer Atom who had been de-aged to a teenager by Extant in Zero Hour.

To attract attention, the team chose the "hottest hangout in Metropolis" for its new headquarters:

The Stain was a combination nightclub/arcade. In Teen Titans #18, its manager was — you guessed it — Trixie Collins.

"Lazer Booster 2000"? A Booster Gold Easter egg!

Mercifully, this dysfunctional incarnation of the Titans was canceled eight issues after it started, but the Stain didn't last even that long. It was blown up by longtime team nemesis Deathstroke The Terminator in issue #22.

It's been two decades since the Stain was removed. I sure hope Trixie learned her lesson and has supervillain insurance for her new building.

Boys Will Be Boys

The database here at Boosterrific lists every known Booster Gold comic book appearance. That includes all 245 meetings between Booster Gold and Blue Beetle.

However, one comic you'll not see on that list is Starfire #1 (2015), in which the alien princess and model had a drink with "Blue" and "Gold." To correct that oversight, here are the relevant pages:

And I thought Wonder Woman was harsh!

Starfire #1 was created by Amanda Connor, Jimmy Palmiotti, Emanuela Lupacchino, Ray McCarthy, Hi-Fi, Tom Nepolitano, Paul Kaminski, and Eddie Berganza.

Coming Soon: Blue and Gold 6

DC Comics January solicitations came out Friday and gave us our first look at Blue and Gold #6:

© DC Comics

BLUE AND GOLD #6
story by DAN JURGENS
art & cover by RYAN SOOK
Peacemaker variant cover by SIMONE DI MEO
ON SALE January 18 · $3.99 US

Booster and Beetle are lost in space! After a disastrous first day on their new jobs as hero business owners and operators, the duo has found themselves kidnapped and stranded on an alien world. Who's to blame? Well, the Omnizon of course! Welcome to her home planet, Br'Honn, where a battle to the death between friends is just another Tuesday!

Um, are we not going to mention that's Blackguard on the cover?

And second question, will that Peacemaker variant cover have anything to do with the content of the issue, or will it be like The Suicide Squad variant for issue 2 that could only possibly have confused and/or disappointed unwary bait-and-switched readers who bought the issue expecting a blood-spattered orgy of cynical ultraviolence only to find the bromantic antics of Blue Beetle and Booster Gold inside instead? (Asking for a friend.)

Also in the January solicitations is Human Target #4, which has Blue Beetle on the cover. The solicitation is vague, but wherever Beetle is, Booster can't be too far behind. Will he be in this? I guess we'll find out for sure on January 25.

You can find all of DC's January solicitations on gamesradar.com.

More Powers Than Batman

You know most CBR.com listicles just annoy me, but every once in a while, they say something I agree with.

For example, take "DC Comics: 10 Sidekicks Who Need To Break Away From Their Mentor" by Derek Faraci.

8. Skeets Plays Second Fiddle To A Goofball

Of all the sidekicks in comics, Skeets may get the least respect. A super-intelligent robot that holds all of human history up to the 25th century in its databanks, Skeets works alongside Booster Gold to help the hero from the future become the greatest hero of today. But Skeets only shows up when Booster bothers to turn him on. When Booster was a member of the Justice League International, he boxed up his sidekick up and left him in storage, which is just plain rude. With its smarts, its lasers, and its sense of humor, Skeets is more than ready to branch out and do its own thing.

Yes! In Skeets' case, striking out on its own might even seem like *less* work.

Booster Gold #37

If you're paying attention, DC: yes, I would buy a Skeets solo comic.
