DC Universe Online ships worldwide today.
I'm iced in, so my local gaming store might as well be in Metropolis. However, I trust that sooner or later someone out there will play it and give us a review of Booster Gold's surprisingly prominent role as official DC tour guide.

I have played in the Beta Test of DCUO, and I love Booster's commentary on all things in the DC Universe. The DCU specific product placements are a favorite of mine. Now, I'm hoping there is a mission or series of missions where you can work alongside him and the Blue Beetle (either Ted or Jamie).

I absolutely love when I get a City Tour mission! With Booster Gold as the historical illuminator, where could it go wrong? As a Booster fan I was rather giddy that he was included at all, regardless of his rather flagrant 'corporate hero' characterization. Random product placement, cheesy one liners & an introduction that screams Troy McClure, it all certainly plays into Booster à la 52.<br />Sadly, I've seen many people become exasperated by the missions & frankly the inclusion of Booster at all. I'm really hoping that they'll have a mission where you get to team up with him & see that he has some serious depth. The last few years in the comics have been his renaissance & I hope the game won't overlook that.<br />Even if we don't get to see that side of him in game, at the very least I'm pleased he was included. I still know he's the greatest hero you've never heard of!<br />Although, there is one thing that I'm disappointed with; the Booster Flakes adverts do not proclaim they're Boosterrific! :D

I just heard from a friend that Booster is encountered as a kiosk voiceover, not an in-game model. I did not know that. Now I wonder if Booster does physically appear in the game.... Hmm. I sure hope so.

Greet the week with a new toy: introducing the Boosterrific.com forum. I hope that it will be used to spread the glory of The Man of Gold. Comments will still be allowed for all blog posts. The web is abuzz with the news that Tom Welling will be directing the Smallville episode "Booster" featuring guess who. Pros and cons:
- Pro: Welling plays Superman
- Con: He has never read comic books and is no doubt completely unfamiliar with Booster Gold
- Pro: Welling has directed several earlier episodes
- Con: He has only helmed 6 episodes over 9 full seasons
- Pro: Welling directed the Justice Society in an earlier episode written by Geoff Johns
- Con: He wore a black trenchcoat in that episode
Made up your mind yet? Don't worry, you've still got time before Booster Gold's first live-action appearance. "Booster" is scheduled to air sometime in April.

While he is definitely directing the episode, I think the biggest pro is the fact that he didn't write it himself. Kidding aside, though, I cannot wait for this episode!!

How watchable was the Justice Society episode? (From the viewpoint of someone who generally finds the show unwatchable).

I cannot tell a lie: I did not watch it. But my one friend who does watch says it was a series highlight. (I gave up on the show after two seasons and haven't looked back. I will look back only when Booster arrives.)

this episode along with the teen titans episodes (and Green Arrow, who I'm a big fan of, but not from the show, though I'm sure he is great) and the JSA from last year has inspired me to get into this show, though the early episodes are pretty bad with the teen drama crap, but I heard season 4 when he goes to Metropolis starts the show down the path of being watchable, and maybe even fun.

I've only watched the last three years of Smallville. They have all been great. The show is basically "The New Adventures of Lois and Clark." The Justice Society episode, as well as the Legion episode (both written by Geoff Johns) were amazing. I have very good expectations for this episode.

Guessing game time, folks. Who is this:
The above panel by J.J. Birch, Sam De La Rosa, and Nansi Hoolahan from Firestorm: The Nuclear Man, Volume 2, #67, takes place during Millennium #1 (between pages 14 and 15, in fact). It shows a hero with a mask and hair.
Characters who meet that description in Millennium #1 are Black Lightning, Booster Gold, Geo-Force, Hal Jordan, and Katanna. Lightning and Jordan are both also in this panel, and the hair looks unlike Katanna (she is seen elsewhere in this issue). So what do we think? Is this character Booster Gold, or is it Geo-Force? Does this book belong in the chronology of Booster appearances?

I looked at pictures of Geo-Force and I fear he once more steals Booster's place (just like Geo-Force was asked into the Justice League before Booster was).<br />Booster googles are round, and also drawn as such in Millenium. This mask on the other hand is not round and goes "deeper" then the eyes, which would fit for Geo-Force as his Mask is connected to the rest of his costume while Boosters Googles should not go as low, or even lower, as the Nose.

I do not think that is intended to be Booster. I'm not convinced the artist had any specific hero in mind when he drew it, but give the presense of Black Lightning and Katanna, I would support Geo-Force as a possibility (the whole Outsiders connection). BTW, I admire your completist drive!

I accept your judgment. There is another panel earlier in the book that shows the same figure with the same face-mask, so I assume that artist J.J. Birch had someone in mind both times. The bulge above the cheekbone suggested to me that it might be Booster's goggles. However, since we can't be clear, unless I hear otherwise, I'm going to assume that it is Geo-Force and be done with it.
