If This Hero Thing Doesn't Pan Out...
At long last, someone has finally answered the question of what Booster Gold would have looked like as a prospector in 19th-century California. Chaz Folgar recently submitted the following image to Comic Book Resources' "The Line it is Drawn" column as part of its "place comic book characters into different time periods" challenge.
Click the image above to go see a larger copy of this and other fine works at Comics Should Be Good's website. You can see more of Folgar's work on his website, Chazfstan.wordpress.com. As Skeets would say, "dig it."

Preview Justice League International #6
Did you know that Justice League International #6 will be released next week?
Well, I am. Fortunately for me, Boosterrific Forum contributor CDN pointed out that Kotaku.com has a 5-page preview of the issue. Given that Booster Gold appears on all five pages, hinting that it will be a very Booster-oriented issue, I have to say that I like what I've seen.
(And I'll like it even more if we finally get to meet the DCnU Skeets.)

Role Models
They say we only want what we can't have, and that must apply to comic book characters, too. Metamorpho even made an appearance in the rebooted Justice League International, and that exposure didn't seem to help him in the voting.
Last week's poll question: Which previous DCU JLI member would you prefer to see join the DCnU JLI? (43 votes)
As the world's attention turns to next week's NFL Championship game, the rematch of two quite different quarterbacks takes center stage. Can male-model Tom Brady win a fourth title, proving himself inarguably among the best NFL quarterbacks? Can unflappable Eli Manning step out of the shadow of his father and sibling to prove he's equal to the hype?
More importantly, how do these quarterbacks compare to the best quarterback in history: Michael "Booster" Carter?

New Releases: DCU Online Legends #22
Morgenstern spotted Booster Gold in the preview pages DC teased on The Source for today's release of DC Universe Online Legends #22. The events of this series are out of continuity (taking place in an alternate timeline) as they fill in the back-story for the DC Universe Online video game.
It was only a matter of time before Booster appeared in this series. He plays a significant role in the game as the tour guide for Metropolis and Gotham cities, leading players to landmarks across the DCU. Recording those sessions must have kept the Corporate Crusader too busy to participate in saving this alternate world until now.
The game is now free to play on your PC, and can be downloaded from dcuniverseonline.com. However, the comic will cost you $2.99, whether you buy a floppy copy in your Local Comic Shop or a digital copy online at Comixology.com/DC_Comics.
Buy this comic and make the DC Universe Online version of Skeets happy.

Blue Beetle, Meet Booster Gold
Last week Josie Campbell interviewed Blue Beetle writer Tony Bedard for Comic Book Resources. It would seem that Bedard has big plans for the future.
CBR: So we are going to see Kyle [Rayner, Green Lantern] and Jaime [Reyes, Blue Beetle] meet! From that point onward is the idea for the series to become more involved in the greater DCU with characters crossing over to different books, events in "Blue Beetle" echoing through other series, etc.?
Tony Bedard: Yes, after re-introducing Jaime to the readers and re-establishing his origin, etc., I want to make sure that his world extends beyond his roots in El Paso. Readers need to know that this guy is important to the DCU, and I think Blue Beetle fans want to see him interact with Green Lanterns and with the Justice League and especially with Booster Gold. Now, we're not going to do it all at once, but I think it will be a blast to discover the rest of the DCU heroes and villains through Jaime's eyes.
No mention was made of the series' tenuous sales position after DC's recent slate of cancellations or how far Bedard is working ahead of the already solicited issue #8 due in April. Nonetheless, it seems pretty clear that if you want to see Blue and Gold reunited in future issues, you might want to start promoting Blue Beetle to your friends and family. You don't want to be responsible for standing between Booster Gold and Blue Beetle, do you?
You can read the whole interview here.
