New Release: Justice League 3000 #13

The first week of the new year brings us a new comic adventure teaming Blue Beetle and Booster Gold. I can already tell it's going to be a good year.

While We're Talking about Actors

I frequently mention the actors and artists who have given Booster Gold a voice in comics and television. That's part of why this site exists. Therefore, I feel it's only fair that I recognize those who work behind the scenes to make that possible.

With that in mind, I direct you to Marc Alan Fishman's Comicmix.com article, "The Voice of an Entire Universe," about legendary DCU casting director Andrea Romano. Romano is responsible for Tom Everett Scott and Billy West in Justice League Unlimited's "The Greatest Story Never Told." That's some pretty good work.

He Would Know Best

While I was on vacation, Kevin Maguire, the artist most closely associated with the Bwah-Ha-Heyday of Booster Gold's time with the Justice League International, recommended James Franco for the role in the movies. He'd cast Franco's pal Seth Rogan as Beetle.

I could see @Sethrogen and @JamesFrancoTV as Blue Beetle and Booster Gold. They already have the deepest bromance in movies today.

While I don't normally post fan casting here at Boosterrific.com, I figure if anyone has the right to say who would fit the role, it's the artist most associated with the character (after Dan Jurgens, of course). Franco's a brunette, but he's a dedicated actor who once cut off his arm for a role. I'm sure he wouldn't object to a little hair dye.

Maguire didn't stop with just Blue and Gold, however. He went ahead and cast his ideal JLI movie roles. You'll find the complete list at Comic Book Resources.

Another One Rides the Omnibus

I want it all!

Last week's poll question: ( votes)

Here at Boosterrific.com, I track all Booster Gold appearances. That includes reprints, whether in comics, trades, or $99 hardcover "omnibuses." Given that DC just released a 912-page collection of all the Futures End one-shots, I wondered if anyone here might buy it just to get another copy of Booster Gold: Futures End?

Year in Review 2014 Countdown: Number 1

To no one's great surprise, the Most Viewed Post at Boosterrific.com in the past 12 months was the return of Booster Gold in his own, self-titled one-shot in September:

It was good to see so many people excited about Booster Gold: Futures End #1 after a several-year hiatus for our hero. I look forward to continuing that momentum with his two issue Convergence tie-in miniseries in 2015.

Thanks for a good 2014, Booster Boosters. Let's make 2015 shine!
