Lego-ish Booster Gold

I don't need to be an AFOL to recognize that Duo Le Pin's "Super Heroes" line is an unlicensed LEGO knockoff. Therefore, no Booster booster should be too excited about item DLP9072-19, DLP's take on Booster Gold, complete with Legion Flight Ring... and his motorcycle?

Duo Le Pin DLP9072-19 Super Heroes Booster Gold

Ok, you can be a little excited. Booster Gold toys — even bootleg ones — are always cool. (Hey, if LEGO isn't going to make us a legitimate Booster Gold minifig, we've got to play with something.)

Thanks to The Blot for calling this out on Twitter.

Enjoy The Little Things

My television has been bombarded by Teen Titans Go! To the Movies ads for the past two weeks. I didn't pay them too much attention — I try to avoid movie trailers; I think they give too much away — but I could have sworn I kept spotting the Corporate Crusader in the background of some of the big group shots. Try as I might, I couldn't confirm that from the official trailers I found on YouTube.

That is, I couldn't prove it until yesterday. Feast your eyes upon this:

Booster Gold is clearly visible in this screen capture from the trailer compilation posted by Comicbook.com. You'll find this clip at 2:16 and repeated at 3:20. It's a Booster two-fer!

Teen Titans Go! To the Movies is in theaters now, so I guess I'll be going to the movies this weekend.

Things to Come

DC Comics released October solicitations about a week late because of Comic Con. (Why weren't they released during Comic Con? You'll have to ask DC.) Booster Gold shows up in two books:

HEROES IN CRISIS #2
written by TOM KING
art and cover by CLAY MANN
Suspected of murder, [REDACTED] and [REDACTED] find themselves on the run from the super-hospital called Sanctuary—with each thinking the other one is the real killer! It's up to Batman to solve this heinous crime, but suspicion falls on him when Superman and Wonder Woman ponder just how much Sanctuary's A.I. is telling them. Meanwhile, [REDACTED] tries to make a shady deal to hide from the Trinity, while [REDACTED] searches out an old friend to help him out of this mess—and only gets deeper in trouble.
ON SALE October 24 · $3.99 US

SUPERMAN: ACTION COMICS: THE REBIRTH DELUXE EDITION BOOK THREE HC
written by DAN JURGENS
art by VIKTOR BOGDANOVIC, RYAN SOOK, BRETT BOOTH, WILL CONRAD and others
Mr. Oz at last steps from the shadows—but the truth of his identity will rock the Last Son of Krypton to his core. And if Superman refuses to join Mr. Oz's cause, maybe Superboy will! Then, Superman and Booster Gold travel back in time to verify the claims that Kal-El's father survived the destruction of Krypton. What they find, though, is a vastly different world than history has shown. Collects ACTION COMICS #985-999.
ON SALE November 28 · $34.99 US

Note that Action Comics hardcover collection is the second volume to reprint Dan Jurgens' "Booster Shot" story. The first, Superman: Action Comics Vol. 5: Booster Shot, is due August 22.

Three Things (Comic Con 2018 Wrap Up)

Booster Gold-related pickings were slim at this year's Comic Con. What did we learn? Not much.

1. Booster Gold will not be in CW's Legends of Tomorrow season 4.

Per CBR.com: When asked at Saturday's DC's Legends of Tomorrow panel whether Booster Gold might put in an appearance, show executive producer Phil Klemmer said it was "not in the works." Seeing as how Booster hasn't been in any of the first three seasons of Legends of Tomorrow, this hardly comes as a shock.

2. Nathan Fillion isn't planning on playing Booster Gold.

Per ScreenRant.com: When asked whether he was aware that some fans want him to portray Booster Gold on screen, the Castle actor said that he likes the character but he's not campaigning for the part. Given that there has been no evidence that anyone is currently actively working on a Booster Gold movie or television project (and he won't be in Legends of Tomorrow ), this shouldn't come as much of a surprise to anyone, either.

3. Booster Gold will be playing a central role in Heroes in Crisis.

Per: Newsarama.com: Yes, we've known about Heroes in Crisis for nearly 2 months. But DC had a very weird press conference on a boat — somebody really loved Eyes Wide Shut — to promote the mini-series where they released new colored Clay Mann art featuring our hero.

I'm still not sold on Heroes in Crisis, but I can't deny that it's looking pretty darn good.

No Tips About the Future

On Thursday, Cartoon Network announced the release of their latest mobile game, Teen Titans GO Figure!

According to their press release:

Teen Titans GO Figure! features nearly 100 exciting figures to battle and level up. Collect fan-favorites like Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, The Flash, Green Lantern, Black Lightning, Swamp Thing, Shazam and more, each customizable with new paints, abilities and accessories. You'll meet up with tons of iconic DC characters along the way, including Supergirl, Hawkgirl, Commissioner Gordon, Martian Manhunter, Space Cabbie, Rainbow Raider, Booster Gold, Condiment King and more.

Before you rush out to play, know that DC Comics also released a digital tie-in comic book. The comic's plot actually involves some time travel antics, so naturally Booster Gold has to drop by. His one-panel appearance revisits Rip Hunter's chalkboard from Booster Gold Volume 2.

Teen Titans Go! Figure (Cartoon Network Custom Comic) #1
Ivan Cohen, writer; Sandy Jarrell, artist; Kelly Fitzpatrick, colorist; Josh Reed, letterer

You can purchase the Teen Titans GO Figure! game for $3.99 by way of CartoonNetwork.com, and you can read the Teen Titans Go! Figure comic for free at Comixology.com.

(Yes, the exclamation point is in a different place in those two products. Why? Go figure.)

Thanks to J for letting me know about the comic.
