Plugging the Holes

I'd like to end the week with an extra special thank you to Logan Peterson and Shawn Baston, without whom the Boosterrific.com database wouldn't be nearly complete enough.

These two eagle-eyed Booster boosters notified me about our hero's cameos in Secret Origins #10 and Grayson #6.

No Booster Gold collector needs to feel bad if their collection never includes either of these minor appearances, but we're all better off as a community because we have people like these two watching out for the rest of us. Thank you!

[UPDATE 2015-03-26: Kenneth Baillargeon tried to tell me about the Secret Origins appearance on Facebook the week it came out, but I didn't spot that until just now. I'm sorry for not crediting you earlier, Kenneth. I'm not good with the Facebook. (Because, yes, I'm a grumpy old man.) So if anyone needs to reach me, you can find me at webmaster at boosterrific dot com.]

Time for Change?

Well, if you feel that way about it, I'll not worry so much about my own bias against fan fiction.

Last week's poll question: Which type of fan labor do you most want to see featured in Boosterrific posts? (43 votes)

Which type of fan labor do you most want to see featured in Boosterrific posts?

On Tuesday, Google warned me that Boosterrific.com is woefully behind the times in mobile device integration and recommended that I update the site to function more universally. The company kind of implied that if I didn't get on the stick, it was going to affect my ad revenue (all $20 of it). I don't like to admit it, but Google has a point.

The site design predates the iPhone and the ensuing smart phone revolution. Given the growing pains of the mobile device operating systems and displays, I haven't ever worried much about correcting the site for a modern audience. I know it needs some updating, but there's always seems to be something more important. Do I need to work on those revisions sooner than later?

It's an Injustice They Were Excluded

Injustice: Gods Among Us is a fighting game released in 2013. It features many DC Universe characters from across the Multiverse and pits them against one another in Mortal Kombat style battles. The biggest flaw with that game is that it didn't include everyone's favorite characters.

Gavin Jasper of DenofGeek.us gives a list of the top ten characters he hopes to find in the inevitable sequel. Guess who tops the list?

To put it plainly, Booster Gold needs to be in Injustice 2 because he would be the Johnny Cage of the game. In fact, to this day, it bugs me that we never got Johnny Cage vs. Booster Gold in Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe. He's a charismatic character with enough unique aspects to his fighting style (time travel, force fields, and football robot buddy) who could mean all kinds of things for a story like this.

I'm with Gavin. Add a little Booster Gold, and you've got yourself a sale!

Find the whole list of who Gavin would ad at DenofGeek.us.

Happy Saint Patrick's Day

In 1962, the Chairman of the Chicago St. Patrick's Day Parade was inspired to dye the Chicago River green after watching plumbers who used color-changing dye to detect leaks flowing into the river. At least, that's the official story.

Booster Gold vs Rainbow Raider over the Chicago River

Who's to say that the real story doesn't have anything to do with a time-displaced super villain obsessed with color? Certainly not the Greatest Hero You've Never Heard Of.

Nothing Says Etsy Like a Booster Gold Poster

It's not often I have the opportunity to showcase Booster Gold fan art that you can buy, but artist Jonathan Reyes is selling this minimalist poster via Etsy.com:

Booster Gold poster by JRLunaArt

If you buy from JRLuna's Etsy.com store before the end of March and use the coupon code "MARCH2K15", you can save 20%. That's a pretty good deal on such a sweet piece of art.
