In the latest issue of Booster Gold, Booster is put on trial for something related to his theft from the 25th century Space Museum. (The issue was light on the exact charges.) However, Booster was sentenced to death in a Federal court for his theft back in his first volume of adventures. From a continuity standpoint, this raises several questions: Is Booster being tried at a time prior to his sentencing? Is Booster being tried not for the theft, but for escaping from custody? Or is Booster being tried in another jurisdiction altogether?

It's been 25 years since Booster came to the 20th century with his stolen goods. That's a long time. Is possible for Booster to escape the statute of limitations for a crime he won't commit for another 500 years? Fortunately for us, Law and the Multiverse discusses the question of time travel and the statute of limitations here. It doesn't explain what happened to Booster Gold, but it's interesting nonetheless.

Readers were introduced to Maxwell Lord's father as part of a retelling of Max's history in last week's issue of Justice League: Generation Lost #20. Also in the issue were scenes featuring Maxwell Lord's mother. While the story was well written and very enjoyable, a few problems become apparent when this new story is compared with earlier tales of Maxwell Lord's family. Namely, both of Max Lord's parents previously had different names. Max's mother -- named Naomi, not Rebecca -- even appeared in an issue of Booster Gold published as recently as November!

Now these little discrepancies can be explained away by a thoughtful writer, but they add to a troubling list of continuity inconsistencies surrounding Justice League: Generation Lost. Is this series rewriting DC history as it goes? Should the continuity changes that it presents be ignored? Historically, continuity changes that last tend to be tied directly to the popularity of the continuity-changing issue/series. Therefore it is likely that the answer to these questions lies in the readers' hands: do we like and are we willing to accept the continuity changes of Generation Lost once this series is over? Only time will tell.

No sooner do I finally get to level 30 -- just so that I can take on the level-restricted Booster Gold/HIVE mission -- than Booster shows up in the Justice League Watchtower courtesy the latest game update. Now even a level 1 character can walk up and get his autograph!

It seems Booster has been talking to Circe about love potions, or so I've heard from Oracle. When I try to talk to Booster, all he'll do is endorse Flakies. I guess a hero's got to earn a living, right?

Seriously, Booster Gold was already a huge part of DC Universe Online even before this latest content update. Between the exploration missions, the Duo mission, the animated Booster Flakies advertisements, Booster's collectible audio endorsements of Big Belly Burger and Soder-Cola, and several other assorted references (including a mention of "Booster Bits" cereal by the Riddler!), Booster is omnipresent in Metropolis and Gotham cities! There's more Booster Gold content in the game than all but perhaps a handful of other Justice Leaguers.

I've got to hand it to Sony Online Entertainment, they know a (gold) star when they see one.

Booster Gold's not like Batman or Superman. (Yet.) You have to cherish the occasions when you stumble across some pretty Boosterrific stuff. Take for example yesterday's Comics Alliance article about artist Kristin Palach. The article contained the following image:

Justice League: Generation Lost #20 and the related Power Girl #21 are scheduled to hit stands today. With only two months left in this story, it's about time we learn what Maxwell Lord's master plan is and how many other heroes Power Girl can get to join Booster Gold's latest team. Buy them both and make Skeets happy.
