Booster Gold vs. Rocket Raccoon: Fight!
The internet produces the strangest things. Case in point is a thread on the Gamespot Game FAQs message board for the Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 video game titled "So we get Rocket Raccoon, but not Booster Gold?". On one level, I feel the need to point out that Booster Gold is not a Marvel character. But on another level, I have an undeniable urge to say, "yes, please!"
As an aside, let me confess that I've been a Rocket Raccoon fan since his self-titled 1985 series. [Booster Gold and Rocket Raccoon? That was a good year for comics!] If I still bought Marvel Comics, I'd be buying Rocket Raccoon comics. Something about an interstellar raccoon with bubble helmet, laser guns, and an alliterative name really does it for me. Don't judge me.
Returning to the point, whether this poster was serious or not, this post reminds us that we still don't have any video games with a playable Booster Gold character. This is an oversight that must be corrected. Programmers, take note: Booster Gold, The Video Game, as soon as possible (Rocket Raccoon optional).

One Week Until Smallville
Had you heard that the Chinese State Administration of Radio, Film and Television essentially banned all television shows involving time travel this month? It just so happens that the Smallville episode "Booster" is scheduled to air one week from today, at 8:00 PM EDT on the CW Network. Certainly this can't be a coincidence.

The Chinese government must be concerned about the influence that Capitalistic Booster Gold could have on their Communistic citizens. No, don't look, China! You might like what you see! (Heaven forbid that you should grab a bite at a Big Belly Burger and wash that down with a Soder Cola!) Fortunately for us Americans, the Federal Communication Commision doesn't care what we watch so long as there are no wardrobe malfunctions. Remember to keep those goggles on, Booster!
UPDATE: Kevin and Morgenstern have noticed someone familiar in the latest Smallville promo.
Thanks, guys. Less than 7 days and counting.

The Voice of Booster Gold
Those of you who have played DC Universe Online are already very familiar with this, but I thought the rest of you deserved to hear the voice of Gold.
That's Tracy W. Bush -- only the second third person to give official voice to Booster Gold after Tom Everett Scott and David Coyne (see comments below for details) -- as Booster Gold from one of the many, many Booster Gold kiosks littered throughout Metropolis and Gotham City. This sample is only the tip of the iceberg; Booster is much more verbose and far funnier in most of his DC Universe Online sound bites.
Note: if you cannot see the audio player, you do not have Adobe Flash Player installed in your browser.

Dusk in Gotham City
By now everyone has seen the animated Booster Gold Flakies advertisement from DC Universe Online, right? Well, that's not the only outdoor advertisement with Booster Gold's grinning face.

Sure, it's the same image of Booster as seen on the Flakies ad and omnipresent exploration kiosks, but this unique billboard near Gotham City's Chinatown district is for Dusk toiletries. The original slogans for Dusk were "for the hero in you" and "bring out the hero in your man." Given that in DC Universe Online most humans have acquired superpowers and become either heroes or villains, the change in slogan to "bring out the man in you" may be more appropriate.

Skeets Gets a Piece of the Action
Introducing the latest advancement in vending machine innovation: Skeets Repairs, "the Future of Convenience" â„¢!

Players at the highest levels of DC Universe Online spend a lot of time in playrooms (more commonly known as dungeons or instances), where they will take a beating from some of the most powerful characters in the DC Universe. When a player needs a quick pick-me-up, rather than leave the playroom, he can just pop over to the conveniently located Skeets Repairs machine and spend some well earned coin on repairs.
These vending machines may be in some questionable locations (is a warehouse full of Joker robots really the ideal place to sell some soda, Booster?), but their selection is top-notch. Skeets Repairs machines clearly dispense 4 flavors of Soder-Cola and 3 flavors of Gingold soda. Yummy!
