I can't make any promises, but I can venture a guess who's hand this is.

The image is a still taken by kryptonsite.com, the internet's leading Smallville resource, from a CW teaser for April's Smallville episodes. And yes, the Legion Flight Ring has already appeared in earlier episodes in the series, though no other Legionnaires are currently expected to appear for the rest of this season. So this is probably the closest we'll get to Booster Gold's costume before the episode "Booster" airs one month from now on April 22.

I never managed to finish a single episode of the show..but to my knowledge it has this "no tights, no flight" rule, meaning that Superman may neither wear his costume or fly...if this is correct would that mean that Booster would be a full active hero (with costume and flying) before Superman?
Boosterrific [Official Comment] posted on Mar. 24, 2011 at 6:05 PM
No, there have been plenty of heroes, in tights and out, and plenty of flying for a long time now on that show. Superman has been a "full active hero" for years. So this may only mean that Booster appears to the public before Superman does. (Disclaimer: I haven't really paid attention for years, so I don't even know if that's true anymore.)

Finally! The only Smallville episode I'll need to see!
And the Jaime Reyes one if that's a separate episode.

I'm pretty sure Booster Gold and Blue Beetle will be in the same episode, Eyz. So that should reduce the number of SMALLVILLE episodes you'll need to see.

Given this show a few chances over the years but have never gotten into it. However if Booster's in it I'm watching. I hope it's good but cannot say my expectations are very high.

I'll watch it!

Congratulations, Geoff Johns. You're gonna have a lot of us watching that episode!

You better not disappoint us! *remembers the awesome Hawkman, but fears the Cyborg/Doomsday/Bizarro-approach...*

Soaps.com reports that Smallville has cast its Booster Gold:

His name is Eric Martsolf. According to IMDB, he has been acting professionally on screen for a decade, mainly on in soap operas. This means that I am completely unfamiliar with his work. If you need to read up on him, as I did, there is more info available on his Official Website, ericmartsolf.com.
He'll need a good bleaching to get Booster's golden hair. Otherwise, we'll see how he holds up as the Corporate Crusader come April. Good luck, Eric. We'll be watching.

Will you remind us when it airs?

I will certainly try.

VERY NICE! So glad they actually got someone that looks like a football player...and didn't go for the thin goofy guy. Eric looks like he can play a smug yet serious booster gold

@Kevin
I think they're going with the original Booster...The not-so-serious one

His photo on his website's home page looks like a great representation of Rip Hunter.

When was Booster ever really serious? ;P
Now, all I want to know is if they're going for the cheap route (Martian Manhunter, Flash, Cyborg, Bizarro..) or the faithful one (Hawkman, Zatanna Dr. Fate..)
The same goes for the 2 announced Blue Beetles

The web is abuzz with the news that Tom Welling will be directing the Smallville episode "Booster" featuring guess who. Pros and cons:
- Pro: Welling plays Superman
- Con: He has never read comic books and is no doubt completely unfamiliar with Booster Gold
- Pro: Welling has directed several earlier episodes
- Con: He has only helmed 6 episodes over 9 full seasons
- Pro: Welling directed the Justice Society in an earlier episode written by Geoff Johns
- Con: He wore a black trenchcoat in that episode
Made up your mind yet? Don't worry, you've still got time before Booster Gold's first live-action appearance. "Booster" is scheduled to air sometime in April.

Any word on who's playing him?
Boosterrific [Official Comment] posted on Jan. 8, 2011 at 2:28 AM
Nope, not yet. I'm certainly interested, and I'll be passing the word along once I find out.
Curt posted on Jan. 8, 2011 at 11:44 AM
While he is definitely directing the episode, I think the biggest pro is the fact that he didn't write it himself. Kidding aside, though, I cannot wait for this episode!!
Curt posted on Jan. 8, 2011 at 11:45 AM
Sorry, I was wrong, the biggest pro is Booster just being in the show. Then . . blah blah

How watchable was the Justice Society episode? (From the viewpoint of someone who generally finds the show unwatchable).
Boosterrific [Official Comment] posted on Jan. 9, 2011 at 1:38 AM
I cannot tell a lie: I did not watch it. But my one friend who does watch says it was a series highlight. (I gave up on the show after two seasons and haven't looked back. I will look back only when Booster arrives.)
tiggerpete posted on Jan. 9, 2011 at 8:04 PM
this episode along with the teen titans episodes (and Green Arrow, who I'm a big fan of, but not from the show, though I'm sure he is great) and the JSA from last year has inspired me to get into this show, though the early episodes are pretty bad with the teen drama crap, but I heard season 4 when he goes to Metropolis starts the show down the path of being watchable, and maybe even fun.
Moseguy posted on Jan. 9, 2011 at 11:44 PM
I've only watched the last three years of Smallville. They have all been great. The show is basically "The New Adventures of Lois and Clark." The Justice Society episode, as well as the Legion episode (both written by Geoff Johns) were amazing. I have very good expectations for this episode.

Not a lot of Booster Gold news from this past weekend's New York Comic Con other than the tease that Booster Gold will be "from the future" on Smallville. That may not seem like much, but given Smallville's track record of reinventing DC characters, I guess we should be thankful for the small things.

Hopefully this turns out good I cannot say that I am not skeptical though Smallville has never really done much for me and I've given this show several chances over the years. I will watch the Booster/Blue Beetle show though. Hopefully they do not make them look too campy or much different than how they are in the comics. Geoff Johns is writing so I'm hoping for the best. Oh and Skeets better be in the show too, even if they have to use bad CGI or a puppet on a string I better see him flying around assisting Booster and cracking snide witty remarks like the robot we all know and love!
