New Old Release: DC Comics: Generations
I feel like I say this every year, but now at your Local Comic Shop:
This softcover reprints the hardcover DC Comics: Generations, which was itself a reprint of Generations: Shattered and Generations: Forged. If you've been waiting to read these issues until DC knocked $10 off the price, your day has come!
By the way, in the very recent Justice League 2022 Annual #1 — yeah, it's an awkward name, but at least it doesn't have any colons in it, so... progress? — Batman recognized an accidentally time-displaced O.M.A.C. when the rest of the Justice League didn't. Says Batman:
words by Brian Michael Bendis; art by Sanford Greene, Matt Herms, Josh Reed
Is this evidence that the Batman who was plucked from the past for Generations is the same Batman now a member of the modern day Justice League? I choose to think so. (I don't know how, but time travel can do weird things to continuity.)
It sure seems like DC Comics: Generations has become must-read material for DC continuity wonks. Get it while it's hot!
And while you're at your Local Comic Shop, if you're interested in following Booster's appearances in Human Target, know that he gets a name drop in this week's issue 5. It's only this one panel:
words by Tom King; art by Greg Smallwood, Clayton Cowles
Speaking of continuity, I can't say I care for the rest of this issue's events and characterizations. But, hey, Greg Smallwood's art always delivers!
Enjoy your shopping!

This Day in History: A Bitter Pill
Believe or not, Ted Kord has been "dead" for a full decade. Ten years ago today, the Ted's former Justice League International teammates were still searching for his killer in the pages of The OMAC Project #4.
In the decade since, Wonder Woman killed Ted's assassin, Maxwell Lord, who managed to rise from the grave following Blackest Night to ruin Booster Gold's life (again!) in Justice League: Generation Lost. Because as we all know, in comics death is only temporary. Unless your name is Ted Kord.
On a side note: I wonder if Kord isn't more famous to comic readers today as "the dead Blue Beetle." Certainly, the readers that Geoff Johns brought to Booster Gold during his run — seven years ago! — likely only think of Ted in the past tense.
Sooner or later, those of us who think of Ted as Booster's best friend might need to learn to make peace with the past. A decade is a long time to mourn.

New Releases: Justice League International #9
DC promises that today's issue of Justice League International #9 will crossover with The Fury of Firestorm: the Nuclear Men #9, planned for a May 23rd release. Lately the growing international league of Nuclear Men and Women -- Firestorm Fan records at least 10 unique Firestorms in the DCnU so far -- have been dealing with terrorist bombings in France while the JLI have had their hands full with bombing terrorists in New York. Could these similar plots be more than a coincidence?
With crossover environments already established between the Bat-titles (via Batman and Batwing), the Green Lantern titles (via Guy Gardner), and OMAC, is the JLI becoming the keystone in the continuity of DC's New 52 Universe? The only way to find out is to buy this issue and make Skeets happy.

The Complete, Articulated Booster Gold
Finally, there's a Booster Gold figure in scale with the G.I. Joe toys of the 1980s. Check out this cool 3-3/4" Booster Gold figure at Cool Toy Review.com (photo by Dan Curto):
This figure is part of the DC Universe Infinite Heroes line, and was included in the Omac Attack 6-pack box exclusive to Wal-Mart. Mattel has already released a Ted Kord Blue Beetle as a stand-alone figure, but if you want Booster, you'll have to buy a box set including Maxwell Lord to get him. Oh, will the evil machinations of Max Lord never end?
