New Releases: Booster Gold #44
Welcome back, Dan Jurgens! Jurgens makes his inevitable return to the title with the release of Booster Gold #44 today, taking the reigns back from the polarizing team of Keith Giffen and J.M. DeMatteis. As you no doubt know, Giffen and DeMatteis had assumed creative control from Jurgens last year while he completed the Flashpoint lead-in mini-series, Time Masters: Vanishing Point.
I'm sure there will be a huge spike in sales for this issue (though mainly because of the tie-in to Flashpoint, no offense to Jurgens). Buy it and make Skeets happy.
UPDATE 05/19/11: For the first time, Booster Gold is available for purchase digitally at Comixology.com!

New Releases: Flashpoint #1
And so it begins. DC releases the first issue of the summer-spanning alternate-universe tale Flashpoint today. Booster Gold will certainly be playing some role in the Flashpoint story, though right now, what that role is or how far-reaching it is, is anybody's guess. After the recent slate of title cancellations, Booster Gold is now near the bottom of the sales heap. The success of Booster's tie-in to Flashpoint may very well determine his title's future.

New Releases: Day of the Damned
Today DC releases Doom Patrol #22, Freedom Fighters #9, and JSA All-Stars #18, all final issues. Doom Patrol and Freedom Fighters -- as well as DC's two other May cancellations, Outsiders and R.E.B.E.L.S. -- had been selling far, far worse than Booster Gold. However, JSA All-Stars was selling marginally better and was probably canceled not for poor sales but to free resources to publish a Flashpoint tie-in or two. Can Booster Gold pick up any of the readers who are now without a series? Skeets sure hopes so.

New Releases: Generation Lost #24
Here comes the big finish! The final issue! The long-awaited battle between Booster Gold and Maxwell Lord! Justice League: Generation Lost #24 is scheduled to hit stands today (alongside Brightest Day #24), wrapping up the year-long mega-series. At 48 pages, it's 50% longer than the previous 23 issues, but at $4.99, it's also 66% more expensive. At least that's still cheaper than a gallon of gas! Buy it and make Skeets happy.

New Releases: Booster Gold & Generation Lost
Big week this week as Booster Gold #43 and Justice League: Generation Lost #23 are scheduled to hit stands today. This is the penultimate issue of Generation Lost. After the big reveal in last week's Brightest Day #23, what could be in store for the JLI as they head into "the most awesome fight in comic book history"?
But that's not all! Also due out today is the latest Booster Gold collection, Past Imperfect. This issue collects the first six issues by the creative team of Giffen/DeMatteis/Batista/Perotta. That's pretty good timing, seeing that today's Booster Gold #43 is the last issue created by the Giffen/DeMatteis/Batista/Perotta creative team. (Booster Gold-creator Dan Jurgens makes his return next issue!)
Buy all of them and make Skeets happy.
