New Releases: Justice League TPB Volume 6

It was the best of times, it was the worst of times. Of course I'm talking about the adventures on KooeyKooeyKooey, the casino/resort founded and lost by Booster Gold and Blue Beetle in Justice League America #33-#35.

That adventure and more are reprinted in Justice League International Volume 6, released today. Whether you are reliving the good old days or discovering the apex/nadir of the wackiness of the JLI for the first time, make your reservations today!

JLI at the Beach by Vokes and Rankin

When I was running the rare art pieces last week, I excluded the following piece because it was not strictly commissioned by DC comics. That doesn't mean it isn't worth mentioning.

Amazing Heroes Swimsuit Special 1990

The above image of Blue Beetle, Booster Gold, Guy Gardner, and Fire at the beach by Neil Vokes and Rich Rankin was published in the fanzine Amazing Heroes Swimsuit Special #1 (June 1990). This image may seem a little odd now, but remember that swimsuit specials were all the rage in the 90s. The highlight of the image is probably Beetle's swim trunks, though your mileage may vary.

New Releases: JLI Volume 5 TPB

Justice League International Volume 5, collecting Justice League International Annual #2 and #3 plus early issues of the JLE, is scheduled for release today. There's definitely some Booster Gold in that. And I'm not making any promises, but it seems very likely that Booster will at least get a mention in Power Girl #20, the events of which take place between Justice League: Generation Lost issues #16 and #17.

And if that's not enough to tide you over until the next Booster Gold release, be aware that I've combined and updated the house advertisements/psa page to try to make them more user friendly. The ads are now easier to find, presented on one page for your browsing enjoyment. Boosterrific.com is always working to serve you better!

Winick Lords His Knowledge of Generation Lost

Now that Blackest Night has wrapped up, Judd Winick has more to say about Generation Lost. Apparently, Max Lord has successfully duplicated the Devil's greatest trick and convinced the world that he doesn't exist. Read more at Newsarama.

Top 100 Covers? Bah.

While I'm on the subject of fan tributes to Booster Gold, I should mention another blog post I ran across this past weekend. Minor Henchman finished his highly-subjective list of the 100 greatest comics covers of the past 20 years, and while no cover in the list features Booster Gold, Booster does appear in 2 of the comics: Justice League International #18 and Chase #6. JLI 18 is a fun cover, sure, but hardly the best of the Maguire Justice League covers. (Justice League #4 is far superior, but I'm certainly biased.) While I can't say as I agree with many of Minor Henchman's choices, the list is worth a look-see, if only to see if you agree with it yourself.
