Shattered Feelings

I've been a grouch all week, but it's not all bad news in the world. I mean, DC Fandome version 2.0 is set for tomorrow, and DC is promising us 24 hours of free comics. That's not nothing.

And if Booster Gold fans want even more comic books, you should know that on Wednesday, Newsarama/GamesRadar broke the news that Booster Gold would be appearing in Generations: Shattered #1 in January.

(I said that like you didn't already know it, but you probably did. So many people got in touch to share that Newsarama article, I must have been the last to know. Thanks for keeping me informed, everybody!)

Judging from the article, Generations: Shattered looks to be a $10 anthology book collecting some of the pieces of DC's abandoned "5G" event. The official solicitation hasn't been revealed — and might not be revealed for a while considering that Newsarama says it's coming in January and DC hasn't even released its December solicitations. But we do know that Dan Jurgens is listed as one of the writers, and we did get this look at the sweet cover by Ivan Reis and Joe Prado.

Booster hasn't had that shaded star on his costume since Booster Gold #8 in 1986! Could that be an accident? I think not.

Dare we hope that Generations: Shattered will actually revisit Booster's original post-Crisis on Infinite Earths chronology for the first time since... ever? Remember, back in 1986, Booster was living the lifestyle of the rich and famous. Ah, the good old days!

Maybe this wasn't such a bad week after all. #CorporateCrusader #BringBackTrixie

Open Your Eyes

Back in March, we took a look at the splash title page from Superman #9 and debated whether Booster Gold was in it. To refresh your memory, this is the page:

And this was where we thought Booster might be:

It turns out we were right. Morgenstern, who spotted Booster the first time around, has found proof in Joe Prado's text-free original inks of Ivan Reis' pencils on ComicArtFans.com. Taking a second look at where Booster Gold was thought to be hiding:

Yup, that's our guy (with a beard!).

Now, as it happens, the scene seen in this splash page only occurs in Superman's imagination, so this qualifies as an out-of-continuity appearance (just like Booster's cameo in Batman: Last Knight on Earth #2 discussed earlier this month). No need to rush out and pick up this back issue unless you obsessively buy *all* Booster Gold comics.

Personally, I bought my copy back in March on the suspicion that this *might* be a Booster Gold appearance.

Keep up the good work, Morgenstern.

Someone Has to Draw It

We know that Booster Gold will be returning to the DCU this December in Action Comics #993 and #994. We know that the book will be written by Dan Jurgens. What we don't know is who will be drawing it.

The solicitations released earlier this week repeat last week's announcement that the art team on those books will be Brett Booth (Teen Titans) and Joe Prado (Justice League). However, Booth has repeatedly denied via Twitter that he is involved.

Does this mean that Prado will be carrying the load solo? Will there be a different artist altogether on the book? Who would you like to see? Let's put it to a vote!

This week's poll question: Who do you want to see drawing ACTION 993? Please visit the Boosterrific Polls page to view results for this week's poll.
