Game On
We interrupt our regular posting schedule to bring you an opportunity too good to pass up!
Our friend Blot has brought it to my attention that game manufacturer CMON currently has a crowdfunding campaign for their latest licensed board game, DC Super Heroes United, at gamefound.com, and the important news to Booster boosters is that the campaign has already unlocked a Booster Gold (and Skeets!) stretch goal available to all backers!
As if you need additional incentive to check this out, there is also an unlocked Blue Beetle stretch goal figure (as well as a Justice League International themed card deck).
If you're interested -- how could you not be? -- act fast; the campaign closes next week.
Thanks for the notification, Blot!

New Old Release: Superman Vol 4 Mythology
First things first: 26 Down in today's LA Times crossword puzzle (by Winston Emmons, edited by Rich Norris) is "Robot companion of superhero Booster Gold."
Hundreds of thousands of people work daily crosswords puzzles, so this is great exposure for Booster Gold. If you are one of them, and you are dropping by Boosterrific.com for the first time today, hello. The answer is "Skeets."
Elsewhere, those of us who read Booster Gold comic books will find slim pickings on the ol' periodical rack this week. To the best of my current knowledge, the only place you'll find our hero in the latest releases from DC Comics is in the pages of Superman Volume 4: Mythology, reprinting Superman #20-28, including this panel from Superman #23:
I like that panel — artist Kevin Maguire's take on Blue and Gold *and* the Wonder Twins? Yes, please! — but I'm not sure it's worth $20 for an entire reprint collection.
Instead I'd encourage you to go out and pick up the single back issue from your Local Comic Shop where it's probably selling for... *looks it up on eBay* ... $25?!? Because it's the "1st appearance of Xanadoth"? Xanadoth? You've got to be kidding me. Xanadoth has been in exactly *two* comic books. Fat chance of seeing him as an answer in a crossword puzzle.
Ahem. As I was saying, $20 is a pretty good deal. Buy this issue and make Skeets (and cruciverbalists everywhere) happy.

It Figures That Booster Would Be a Gold Card
It's been a long time since I played a game of Magic the Gathering, but I might consider jumping back in if Wizards of the Coast was adding more Gold to their boosters.
This card was put together by TheUndead_King at the custom card website MTG Cardsmith. It's easily my favorite card since Black Cat! (For the record, my favorite card ever was Stasis. Yes, I enjoyed ruining your day.)
Although TheUndead_King left the artist on his card as "unknown," let me assure you that it is Dan Jurgens and Norm Rapmund artwork from Booster Gold Volume 2, #1. (And while I'm at it, the flavor text is from 52 Week 52. Damn, we got some good Booster Gold comics there for a while.)

Has the Future Already Ended?
Does no one play Heroclix anymore?
Last week's poll question: Which types of games have you played that included Booster Gold? (36 votes)
Two months of weekly Futures End comics, and yet no sign of Booster Gold since the first free issue. We might not see our hero again until his own tie-in issue ships in September. Are any of you still holding out hope and buying this series?

Let's Play a Game
I'm left wondering if there is a big overlap between cosplayers and fan-fiction writers.
Last week's poll question: What type of fan art have you created to celebrate Booster Gold? (57 votes)
I finally got my hands on the "Heroes Unite" expansion for DC Comics Deck-Building Game. Now I can play as Booster Gold! Whoo-hoo! How do you like to play with Booster?
