Early on in Time Masters #1, we are introduced to Rip Hunter's grandfather. The man we see is clearly not Booster Carter's father, but he very well could be Booster's father-in-law. (We still don't know who Booster will marry.)

But Booster boosters don't have to rely on retroactive continuity to find links to Booster Gold in the issue. Booster himself swoops in on page 15, and he is quickly given a demonstration of Hunter's latest experiments.

"Hard to trust anybody"? Hmm. Like father, like son.

When we last visited my favorite pages, Booster Gold and his BFF had just spent all of the Justice League's money on an island casino that promptly went bankrupt. Oops.

That's a pretty big cliffhanger. However, this feature is supposed to present comics in chronological order of publication, which means I should be discussing Booster's appearance in Doom Patrol #29. But since I already posted the only 4 pages of that issue that feature Booster Gold here (my favorite being page 23), let's skip ahead to the good stuff: Justice League America #35, where Blue and Gold have to deal with the aftermath of their terrible, terrible idea.

Adam Hughes art, Giffen/DeMatteis action-adventure/sitcom... yeah, like I said, good stuff.

I consider Justice League of America #34, featuring the infamous Club JLI fiasco on KooeyKooeyKooey island, to be among "The 12 Best Booster Gold Stories Ever" for a very good reason: it's very, very good.

I explained my reasoning here, but no matter what I write about it, the best argument can be found in pages like this:

James Gunn could do a lot worse than adapting that!

Once upon a time, the Doom Patrol were just another low-rent disrespected super hero team made up of society's cast-off misfits. Then Gran Morrison got their hands on them, and things got weird.

Take, for example, the very first page of Doom Patrol #28:

I love the team introduction here where they are contrasted against the "norms" in the Justice League International and presented as outsiders... in their own book!

(Booster Good is a pretty great choice here for contrast between the haves and have-nots, as no one makes more effort to be accepted by the masses than Michael Jon "Booster" Carter.)
