Booster boosters no doubt recall the image of Blue Beetle and Booster Gold running scared as seen in Booster Gold, Volume 2, #34. You know, it's that image that Dan Jurgens said was his least favorite, remember?

For nearly two decades, Blue Beetle and Booster Gold were best friends. First meeting when Booster joined Max Lord's Justice League International, the pair formed a bond strong enough to overcome the gravest challenges. Their shared pranks and misadventures, exemplified by infamous Club JLI on KooeyKooeyKooey, became the stuff of legend. Those were good times.

The good times ended thirteen years ago today with the release of Countdown to Infinite Crisis.

It's a testament to the relationship between the two heroes (and a perfect example of the value of continuity) that their unexpected and violent parting continues to inform Booster Gold's story all these years later.

I received two emails over the weekend pointing out potential holes in the Boosterrific.com database. Thank you both so much for trying to make this website better.

Logan's email pointed me to Superman/Batman Secret Files 2003. I checked my back issues, and sure enough, there was Booster. Now the Boosterrific database is more complete than ever!

The other issue isn't quite so clear. Here's the original email from José:

Hi, I would like to ask if costumes count as appearances, like number 12 of JL 3001, where there is no appearance of Booster, but the costume does. Now, if they do, I would like to add Guy Gardner #18-21, appearing a prototype of the Booster costume.

José is talking about the power armor that Guy Gardner wore for the brief time in 1994 between the loss of his Qwardian power ring and the development of his Vuldarian shape-changing powers. That armor was designed by Ted Kord with the intention of using it to replace the power suit that Booster Gold lost to Doomsday.

While I certainly can see where José is coming from, I'm not sure I should be tracking these. As a rule, I always track Booster Gold appearances when he is seen on panel in a comic. Those include comics that clearly show Booster's costumes whether he is wearing them or not. (The only on-panel Booster Gold "appearances" I intentionally don't track are when he is mentioned in dialog between other characters when he doesn't actually appear in the book.) Therefore, the question here is whether Guy Gardner's armor really ever belonged to or can be identified as belonging to Booster Gold.

Evidence to support José's case can be found in Justice League America #80 when Beetle says Booster's bulky Mark II armor is based on the Rocket Red armor. Beetle says the same thing about Gardner's armor, but that doesn't make them the same armor. In Guy Gardner: Warrior #18 Beetle himself calls this suit a glitchy prototype, and there is no visual evidence in any comic book that Booster Gold ever wore it.

So is José right? Should I be tracking this costume? What do you think?

Another week, another Booster Gold comic book appearance, this time in Injustice 2 #21.

You may recall this digital-first issue was released on Comixology.com back in January as "Chapter Forty-One." If you didn't pick it up then, you probably want to do so today. Even though it takes place in the continuity of the Injustice video game, it's always entertaining to see the Blue and Gold team back together.

If you choose to buy a copy, it will make Skeets happy.

On a barely related note, also in stores today is Exit Stage Left: The Snagglepuss Chronicles #3. It has nothing to do with Booster Gold except maybe the writer, Mark Russell. According to CBR.com, Russell told the crowd at last weekend's Emerald City Comic Con that the character he'd most like to explore more of in the "Rebirth" era is Booster Gold. Russell is already familiar with our hero; he wrote last summer's Booster Gold/Flintstone Special.

Snaggletooth is limited to six issues, so Russell will be free to explore other projects soon. And Dan Jurgens will need something to do after Bendis takes over Action Comics. How about some new Mark Russell written, Dan Jurgens drawn Booster Gold adventures, DC?

So we knew that Booster would be appearing in Injustice 2 #21 next week. Now we know that he'll be in issue #24 next month, too.

This panel comes from the digital-first Chapter 47 now on sale a Comixology.com. I'm sure you recognize Wonder Woman and Blue Beetle. That big guy we see from behind, that's Amazo. Calling one of the Justice League's toughest enemies "****-face" may not be Booster's best idea.

We'll find out how how this encounter turns out on April 18.
