Booster Gold's adventures continue today in Action Comics #1099. This will be the fourth entry in Mark Waid's story taking three Super Buddies (Booster Gold, Martian Manhunter, Mary Marvel) back in time to have adventures with Superman-When-He-Was-A-Boy.

My favorite part of this series is learning just how much its artists look up to Booster Gold!

Action Comics #1099 Cover A

I like that everyone — sorry, Manhunter — almost everyone took the time out from saving Superman's history to get haircuts. You gotta look sharp for your moment in the spotlight.

Buy this issue and make Skeets happy.

UPDATE: As you can read in the comments, pigeon and EJ have pointed out that Booster Gold (or at least a simulacrum of his costume) also appear in Justice League Dream Girls - A DC Pride Event #2 and Green Lantern Corps #17. Thanks for pointing those out!

As if there was any doubt after the last two issues, today's Action Comics #1098 definitely has plenty of Booster Gold in it, as proven by the issue preview at AIPTComics.com.

This space reserved for news about DC's June 2026 solicitations.

(Sure, I could have waited to post anything until after the DC June solicitations are released, but wouldn't you rather know that I had made the intentional decision to not post anything? I'm considerate that way.)

UPDATE: Good news, Booster boosters! In addition to appearing in the many, many DC K.O. reprints coming in July and August (that's not the good news), Booster is on the Ryan Sook cover of Action Comics #1099 coming June 10 (that is), which you can see alongside the full list of solicitations at AIPTComics.com. Wasn't that worth the wait?

UPDATE 2: Now that I've got some free time on my hands, let's take a closer look at that cover, shall we?

After defeating Xotar, Superboy and the Justice League turn their attention to another mystery unsolved. The rocket ship that brought Clark to Earth has been activated. Could this be the key to finding Superman?

If you're curious, that's Kyrptonian text you can see in the rocket ship window. Translated, it reads, "welcome back kal el". It's oriented toward the reader, which means it reads backwards for Superboy and friends.

Is it just me, or is this Action Comics storyline starting to give off Time Masters: Vanishing Point/Batman: The Return of Bruce Wayne vibes? (Those books came out 16 years ago. Golly, I'm getting old.)

At least if time travel shenanigans are afoot, it's a good thing Booster Gold is on the scene... to make them worse.

So, have you seen Cover A for this week's Action Comics #1096?

Yeah, yeah. Sure, there's Ghost Superman and a Superboy who wears Chucks and, for some reason, actual shorts. Great. But that's not the Important part.

This is:

When I last overhauled the design of Boosterrific back in 2018, I added a corner box because corner boxes are awesome. I'm glad that DC has finally gotten that memo. I mean, I'm not thrilled that Action Comics now cost $5 a pop, but if I have to pay that price, it's much better that they have Booster Gold on them.

And if you like that corner box drawn by Skyler Patridge as much as I do, keep your eyes out for Cover E, the "Spot Foil Variant" that is all corner box. Yes, it's $8, but it's selectively shiny!

Buy this issue for its cover and make Skeets happy.
