Thanks for the link. I'm actually pretty interested in getting into Booster. I understand he's been one of the better written heroes of the DCU in recent years. If only they'd reissue 52 in hardcover.

Those are certainly forms of artificial intelligence. I go on about that in my review of #3... but it's something to think about, especially since Rocket Red mentions that all they need is for a Green Lantern to fall out of the sky.<br /><br />Finally, I'm concerned that DC isn't giving this saga the attention that it deserves. Green Lanterns seem to be king right now, and I know that Brightest Day is the one getting play, but this is a bi-weekly series and they're not even mentioning it. It makes zero appearances on the DC Facebook pages. The Source blog has only one mention of it, and that's about digital purchase options. I'm not too impressed with their handling of this - do they WANT it to succeed? Don't they have a vested interest in it? Why aren't they pumping a bi-weekly series?

I've got your back, TGB. Yes, the comment form has always recognized the common html tags, but I never publicized that as until right this minute, it didn't seem to matter. However, as a result of the mess you made, the comments box now parses non-html line breaks (always should have, really; I was just lazy), and the website box will not take sites up to 100 characters long (previously sites had to be under 45 characters in length).

On another note, I'm not the least bit disappointed in how DC is marketing this book. I'd much rather read a regularly produced, entertaining story than some over-hyped turd like Countdown, which seems to be the final product of most of DC's recent editorially mandated, event-driven projects. JL:GL has taken a little time to gel, but it is improving with each issue. Give it time to be a good book and let word of mouth take care of things as the story picks up speed. That's really a much better strategy than yelling at the audience for months about how great it is when it really isn't (Blackest Night) or running a never ending series of promotional tie-ins to promote a core story that is equal parts confusing and pointless (Final Crisis).

That is to say, I understand you concern regarding sales. Sales volume is always a real concern in an industry where stories get truncated because your idea didn't catch on with the public within 2 months. All I'm saying is that I'm not worried. DC is trying a lot of things right now, and I don't mind that JL:GL isn't foremost among them. If it's good, it will get its turn in the spotlight whether DC plans it or not, especially since there are fan blogs, like, say, thegreatestblogyouveneverheardof, promoting it.

Hey, thanks! If HTML would have fixed it, I'd have done that, but this works too.<br />You may be right regarding the advertising; I suppose I'm thinking more along the lines of even a public mention that it is has been released. Countdown was exactly what you say in every aspect. I guess I'm not looking for hype so much as a mention that the series exists.<br />Finally, I hope that blog gets to that point...hehe...

Well, if you can grasp "tight leotard," you shouldn't have any trouble with Brautwurst: he was a member of Eurocrime, a very, very minor group of European food-themed foes of Elongated Man who were manipulated by Sonar to help overthrow Russia. (Sigh. I know that off the top of my head. Life is pain.) So Brautwurst actually has has an individual entry in the villains database here. Now I've made it easier for all of those Brautwurst fans to find him. You win again, Google!

Only to glad to help the cause. ;) Once the reveal happened potential father/son moments popped out at me. Like Boosters' warning before Rip has his first unsatisfying meeting with the man of steel (something they both share.) Or the panel where Rip puts on safety googles and looks just like dad. Hopefully we'll get some more family moments in present stories. Happy Fathers' Day!
