New Releases: Generation Lost & Power Girl
Justice League: Generation Lost #16 is scheduled to hit stands today. You may want to take an extra $2.99 to the comic shop this week, as Booster Gold appears on the solicited cover for Power Girl #19 as well. Buy them both and give Skeets a Merry Christmas.
UPDATE: Booster also makes an appearance in DC Universe: Legacies #8. It's a very Booster Gold Christmas!

Gold Exchange: Booster Gold #39
There was quite a drought of "Gold Exchange" columns for awhile there, and now it seems they are coming fast and furious. Russ Burlingame's latest "Gold Exchange" column was posted late last week at Newsarama.com. (Erin starlight has already commented on it here.) DeMatteis, like Jurgens before him, tends to give few concrete answers to Burlingame's questions, but his responses on how he views Booster Gold are enlightening. I can't ever have too much problem with anyone who clearly likes the character as much as he does.

As I Promised: A Discussion of Sales Numbers
Comicsbeat.com finally released their number crunching for DC October sales last week, and it looks pretty much like what I expected. Of interest are the annual sales comparisons for Booster Gold:
- Sales down 10.2% over 6 months ago;
- Sales down 17.6% over 1 year ago;
- Sales down 40.5% over 2 years ago.
These declines are pretty much in line with the other mid-tier DC books. So surprise, surprise, despite the doom and gloom numbers I keep harping over, Booster Gold is about exactly where we should expect it to be. Booster fans can breathe easier!
Diamond has yet to release the sales numbers for Booster Gold for November, but I think I can probably venture a pretty good guess about where they will be. November wasn't a great month for DC sales in general, especially when compared to last year when DC offered the Blackest Night ring promotion. So I expect the sales slide to continue to about 17,025 issues. We'll see what we see when the real numbers arrive.

Booster Gold Is a Character
Ferret Press chose Booster Gold as the subject of their semi-regular Character Wednesday sketches this week. The following was Steve Black's submission:

That's a pretty fitting image given the mood of the latest issue (and the latest sales numbers). Find a larger copy of the above image plus several others at ferretpress.com. (More about those sales numbers on Monday.)

Booster Gold, Spokesman
Now that I have a computer that may actually be able to play DC Universe Online, I'm probably a little more excited about the game due out this coming February. Especially after reading the following:
There are also secondary quests that are given through interactions with the world such as the aforementioned kiosk which begins a series of quests that show you around the landmarks of the zones (for those that like the DC lore, Booster Gold drives you around these quests and each area you visit is accompanied by a nice little fly around and commentary by Booster Gold throwing in the expected Booster Gold product placement which I had to laugh at sometimes).

Having previously learned that Booster would be the game's tour guide from Massively.com's interview with Chris Cao, I returned to that source for more information. Sure enough, Larry Everett confirms this in a recent review of the game.
In each safehouse, Booster Gold has kiosks that grant tour missions. Each one of these level-appropriate guided tours takes you to all the important places around Gotham City and Metropolis while the tour guide gives humorous commentary about himself and the various locations.

What I still don't know is who is voicing Booster Gold (Tom Everett Scott?). Whoever it is, if Booster is selling, I'm buying.
