If You Can Read This, This Website Is Working

Earlier this week, I warned visitors to the Forum that the server host for Boosterrific.com was planning on upgrading some defenses that would hopefully stop a plague of invalid server requests that were growing to the level of a denial-of-service attack.

Boosterrific 324 Error

As a side effect of this server maintenance, it is highly likely that Boosterrific.com will experience some significant downtime today. It seems like I say this a lot, but I apologize in advance for the disruption in service.

Hopefully we'll be back tomorrow, stronger than ever.

Dressing Up for Emerald City Comicon 2013

Booster Gold may be missing in action in the DCnU, but he's still attending comic book conventions!

The photo of the unknown cosplayer above was taken by Tony "G-Man" Guerrero at Emerald City Comicon 2013 this past weekend. It is but one of his many great pics of great cosplayers you can find online at comicvine.com.

Breaking News!

Seattle, Washington, played host to the annual Emerald City Comicon this past weekend. Fortunately for us, Comics Beat writer Todd Allen attended the "DC Comics: The New 52" panel on Friday, and liveblogged this bit of Q&A between an audience member and the panel:

Q: What happened to Booster Gold?

A: Stay tuned.

"Stay tuned"? That's an official response from the DC representatives? As reporter Kiel Phegley explains at Comic Book Resources:

A frequent joke within the room was when the panel would respond with a purposeful "Stay tuned" to fan questions as if to indicate that, yes, their picks for more revivals were on the way. Queries that earned a "stay tuned" included the possibility of an "Earth 2" spinoff series, a return of Booster Gold and a series for the Atom.

Well, that is more encouraging! I guess if we want to find out more, we'll just have to stay tuned.

Boostin' Yo Spirits

Let's end the week the way we began it: with cool sketches of Booster Gold.

Booster Gold by Matthew Humphreys at Deviant Art

Matthew Humprheys is a professional animation storyboard artist, and it shows in his character sketches of the classic Booster Gold. The man is proliffic, and you can find much, much more artwork, including a similar sketch sheet of Blue Beetle in action, at matthewrhumphreys.DeviantArt.com.

Justice for All

Sigh. I forgot to plug the vote counter back in when I revised the scripts last week, so, yeah, last week's poll... it recorded no votes for the first 5 days it was up. I think I'm going to have to run this one again later.

Last week's poll question: Which Booster Gold supporting character do you miss the most in the DCnU? (8 votes)

Which Booster Gold supporting character do you miss the most in the DCnU?

Yeah, I'll be running that one again soon [wipes egg from face]. Let's move on, shall we?

Justice League of America #1 has 53 covers. This has attracted the attention of various localized media outlets which seem pleased to find their respective state flags on the cover of a comic book. I'm pretty sure that was DC's goal. Does that publicity turn into sales? Out of curiosity, I ask:
