Dan Jurgens Explains It All

On Monday, TwinGalaxiesLive posted an interview with Dan Jurgesn about Convergence that finally explains some of the shenanigans of Booster Gold: Futures End.

Starting at 1:54 into the above video, Jurgens tells us that there is no time travel in Futures End: Booster Gold, just travel through space, as everything takes place on the sentient planet introduced in Convergence.

Mind. Blown.

Does this mean that Jonah Hex, who also appeared to travel through time with Booster in his own series, is also on that planet? Is the older Booster in that issue not the Booster we saw return from Flashpoint, but the older "Supernova" Booster from Time Masters: Vanishing Point? Curiouser and curiouser.

Thanks to Jacqueline G. Lopez and Matthew Hiscox and The Comic Book Show at TwinGalaxiesLive.com for this information.

The Perfect Team-Up Is Just One Man

I suppose it figures that the Booster Gold with the fewest votes is also the Booster Gold who has appeared in the fewest number of panels (exactly one, which is also the number of votes he got).

Last week's poll question: Which alternate-continuity version of himself should Booster Gold meet during Convergence? (44 votes)

Which alternate-continuity version of himself should Booster Gold meet during Convergence?

Now that Convergence is upon us, let's talk about the elseworlds where a single creator — combination of writer and artist — other than Dan Jurgens was responsible for telling the stories of most of Booster Gold's adventures. Who would you want to read?

Post Mortem of the Future

Remember this?

© DC Comics

That was a small part of the teaser poster for Futures End. Tim drake went on to play a huge part in the series. Booster Gold? Not so much. Let's recap:

(Warning: mild Futures End spoilers ahead.)

We learned in the first issue of the series that thirty-five years in the future of the New 52 Universe, Brother Eye has taken over the world. Many heroes and villains have been corrupted into becoming Brother Eye's agents, including Booster Gold.

Forty-eight issues later, uh, not much changed. Despite the tease, the only Booster Gold we really got during Futures End was a confusing sidebar that had nothing to do with the Futures End plot, but rather set the stage for the next mega-crossover event.

That's definitely not what anyone would have guessed when we saw Booster Gold in that teaser last year. Here's hoping that Convergence treats Booster Gold a little better.

Convergence #1 and the first wave of mini-series are in stores today.

The Sad State of Booster Gold Cosplay

Whatever happened to Booster Gold cosplayers?

A few years ago, when Booster was at the crest of his all-time popularity under the pen of Geoff Johns, there was a Booster at almost ever convention. Now we're lucky to spot a Booster once or twice a year.

The only costume I've seen so far in 2015 was worn by Mitch Slevc. But what we've lost in quantity, Mitch is making up in quality.

Back in February, Mitch was named king of the 2015 Nerd Prom in Denver, Colorado, when he attended dressed as Booster Gold. Pay attention, cosplayers: if you want to win, you should dress for the Gold!

You can read more about the event (and Mitch) at Westword.com. (Photo and article by Courtney Harrell.)

Collars Are Cool

Maybe I'm stuck in the 80s, but I think nothing looks cooler than Booster Gold's original high collar.
