It's My Party and I'll Cry If I Want To
Uncork the champagne, DC Comics has set a new record!
- 338 days between Bat-Mite #4 and now (November 2015 to present)
- 336 days between Superman #124 and Chase #4 (Apr. 1997 to Mar. 1998)
- 302 days between Martian Manhunter #24 and JLA: Our Worlds At War (Sept. 2000 to July 2001)
There's still no hint that we'll be seeing Booster any time in the next two months. And why should we? Why set a record when you can smash it!

Keeping It Cool
On Monday, Black Nerd Problems tweeted this awesomely ridiculous pin-up:
The image was created by Our Lady of the Shadows, a tumblr generally devoted to DC Comics' Phantom Lady! Awww yeah.

Long Weekend with Friends
There will be no post on Monday, as I'll be away from the keyboard until after Independence Day. Enjoy this Blue and Gold sketch from Ngozi until I return.
(I can only hope my friends and I have so much fun this weekend!)
You can find more work from Ngozi on Instagram.

Nothing Says Etsy Like a Booster Gold Mask
Etsy is a great place to get handmade gear inspired by comic books. Take, for example, this sleep mask:
That's only $10 from TheGeekForge. It's just one of the many pieces they make. (Their Adam West Batman sleep mask is a thing of beauty!) A portion of their proceeds go to the Hero Initiative, so you know you can rest easy.

Happy Birthday, Dan Jurgens!
Today is Dan Jurgens birthday, but I'm sure you don't need me to remind you of that. All Booster Gold fans already have Jurgens' birthday marked on their calendars every year, right? Right?
Jurgens was recently approached by fan blogger Chris Sheehan at the Phoenix ComicCon. Chris wrote this about their meeting.
I ambled on over, and introduced myself... you know that feeling when you think about meeting one of your heroes and totally being underwhelmed or disappointed... or maybe you just caught 'em on a bad day? Well, those fears vanished as soon as I shook his hand. He was super friendly, and made me feel like he was happy to be meeting me!
I totally relate to Chris' reaction to meeting Mr. Jurgens. I have to admit that I've never met him in person, but Jurgens has been nothing but gracious and engaging in our occasional email exchanges.
Chris goes on to give his review of Booster Gold #1 (spoiler alert: he liked it) on his blogspot blog Chris Is On Infinite Earths, which, if for no other reason, you should visit for its great title!
So thanks again to Dan Jurgens: making so many fans happy for so many years!
