Nontraditional Booster Gold Cosplay
How is it convention season again already? Where does the time go? Fortunately for us, RottenTomatoes.com has harvested some Booster Gold cosplay pics from this year's Chicago Comics and Entertainment Expo.
So far this season we've seen a fat Booster, a tall Booster, and a girl Booster. It's starting to look like Booster Gold has his own "family," classic Captain Marvel-style! Shazam!
You can see all 137 of Rotten Tomatoes' C2E2 cosplay pics here.

Kick Off the Week with Sketch Art
Booster booster Herbert Fung has visited the 2014 Calgary Comic & Entertainment Expo last weekend where he added this David Finch sketch to his personal collection of Boosterrific portraits.
It looks like Finch's Booster Gold means business! Thanks again, Herbert.

Futures End Starts Tomorrow
Booster Gold makes a cameo appearance in tomorrow's Futures End #0. If you're reluctant to spend money for a meager cameo appearance, here's the good news: it's free.
I've rarely partaken in Free Comic Book Day offerings because retailers are charged for the books, and I feel that the free comics should be used to attract new customers, not line the longboxes of people like me who visit their LCS regularly. LeVar Burton sums up the case for giving free comics to the new kids particularly well:
So I'm sorry to say that this year I'll be disappointing LeVar Burton and stealing a teaching opportunity from a child when I take advantage of the marketing promotion to get my hands on Booster Gold merchandise. I think Booster would want it that way.
(Besides, children shouldn't be exposed to the grim 'n' gritty New 52 anyway. Make 'em wait 'til they're old enough to know better.)

How Did I Get Here?
As a general rule, I'm not in favor of any gimmick that raises the cost of a comic. No lenticular cover will induce me to buy any Futures End comic in September or any other month. However, if it's a gimmick cover involving Booster Gold, I'll take two, please.
Last week's poll question: Will you pay more for the 3D cover of BOOSTER GOLD FUTURES END in September? (55 votes)
Tuesday's post made me nostalgic for the comics of my youth. Do you remember what your first comic was? Do you know how you got from there to Booster Gold?

UPDATE 2014-04-30: This seems as good a post as any to note that Newsarama.com confirms that Jurgens will be writing the upcoming Booster Gold:Futures End one-shot. No word yet on the artists.
