When DC released its December solicitations last month, we learned that Booster would be appearing in Action Comics #993 and 994.

You may remember that Brett Booth was solicited as the artist for the previous issues, and he denied it on Twitter. Well, Booth confirmed that these January solicitations are correct. (Still no official word from DC on who will be drawing #993 & #994, though.)

In addition to all those, take a look at the solicited cover to Nightwing: The New Order #6:

If you look closely, you'll see a familiar blue star under Nightwing Jr's right arm. Booster isn't in the first two issues in this six-issue out-of-continuity limited series, but might we see him in January's conclusion? The future is looking increasingly golden!

You can read all the original solicitation details on Newsarama.com.

UPDATE: I hear via Shan on Twitter that Booth says "Booster Shot" is going at least 6 issues. So expect more Booster Gold news in February!

This Day in History: Booster Gold's Back

Believe it or not, once upon a time, Booster Gold was such a big star that he could sell comics he wasn't in just by appearing on the cover! Backwards!

Take, for example, Secret Origins #32, released 29 years ago today.

This issue presents the post-Crisis on Infinite Earths origin of the Justice League of America (which was differentiated from the original origin by the substitution of Black Canary for Wonder Woman).

The Justice League International was super hot at the time, so although the only links between the two teams were Canary and Martian Manhunter, the JLI was still given prime cover real estate to sell the story to new readers unfamiliar with DCU history.

There's no reason this strategy couldn't be used to sell old stories to a modern audience today. I speak only for myself, but I'd be much happier buying a comic showcasing Damian Wayne (Robin V) if he appeared only on the cover.

Shane Glines Designs Booster Gold

Designer Shane Glines has been posting his character designs for Justice League Action to his Facebook account. He posted these "rough" and "final" versions of Booster Gold back in December.

Booster Gold by Shane Glines

Sharp eyed Booster boosters might recognize that the final design is the exact same image as spotted at Comic Con last year.

I love the hair on the rough, though the final does look more like his comic book self (except for the gold earpieces). So long as it's not the New 52 costume, I'm satisfied.

Is everyone enjoying Justice League Action?
