Vaneta Rogers Steals Rip Hunter's Chalkboard

There hasn't been a lot of Booster Gold news lately, but that hasn't stopped Vaneta Rogers from sifting through the bits and pieces we've heard to guess where we'll see our favorite hero reappear. She posts her theory in her article, "'Time' for Booster Gold's Return? We Read the Signs from DC." Part of that theory hinges on the return of Ted Kord:

After a passing reference to a company called "Kord Omniversal" at the start of Forever Evil, Geoff Johns finally announced here on Newsarama earlier this month that the end of Forever Evil in April would bring the first New 52 appearance of Ted Kord. And he'll play a role in Justice League post-Forever Evil.

So why does the promise of one character's introduction lead to thoughts of another?

Fans of Booster Gold call it "the Blue and the Gold" — the magical, oft-pairing of Booster and his former Justice League International teammate, Ted Kord. The two characters have a friendship that inspires loving laughter from their die-hard fans, and we guarantee that a reunion between the two characters would inspire fist-pumping — and sobbing — among DC fans worldwide.

If you followed those links, you saw that she links to this site as "fans of Booster Gold." That we are! Thanks, Vaneta!

Those three paragraphs are the most important (because they link here!) but if you want to know where Rogers thinks we'll see Booster next, you'll need to read her full article online at Newsarama.com.

(Thanks also to ctalbot2085 for linking to this article yesterday in the Boosterrific Forum.)

Who You Got on Sunday?

Fingers are crossed everywhere.

Last week's poll question: Does the announcement that Ted Kord is coming to the nu52 in April mean that Booster Gold's return is also imminent? (40 votes)

Does the announcement that Ted Kord is coming to the nu52 in April mean that Booster Gold's return is also imminent?

Believe it or not, just in time for Super Bowl XLVIII, I present the 200th Boosterrific Poll question.

This Day in History: Meet the Linear Man

Do you remember January, 1991? The New York Giants won Super Bowl XXV. Operation Desert Storm began. Vanilla Ice won Favorite New Hip Hop Artist at the American Music Awards. Ah, those were good times. Unless you were Booster Gold.

On this date in 1991, Booster Gold was hunted by the Linear Man, the first of what would come to be recognized as the policemen of history in the DC Universe. Desperate to make Booster pay for his crime of stealing a time machine and returning to the past, the original Linear Man kidnapped and tortured Skeets. Bad cop!

Fortunately for Booster, this attack took place in The Adventures of Superman #476 — that's not a typo, kids: back in the day books kept consecutive numbering for years instead of resetting every few months — so of course Superman got involved and was displaced in time instead of our hero.

The story played out in the "Time and Time Again" storyline over the following month, but Booster Gold had already been rescued by Superman and was too busy leading the Conglomerate and watching Tonya Harding win the U.S. Figure Skating Championships to return the favor. Oh, Booster!

The Blot Sews

Last year, I showed you a Booster Gold stuffed bunny available on Etsy.com. It must have been an offer to good to refuse for Booster Gold fan The Blot. He showed off his new purchase last week on Twitter:

Here He Comes to Save the Day

Here's something we haven't seen in a long time: Booster Gold in action by Dan Jurgens and Norm Rapmund.

(click art to embiggen)

Russ Burlingame received this piece of original art — page 6 from Booster Gold, Volume 2, #21, to be specific — as a Christmas present. That's what he gets for being the hardest-working Booster Gold reporter on the Internet! Thanks for sharing, Russ.
