Special Edition Blue and Gold Sketch

I'm not done with Special Edition 2015 just quite yet. Check out this sketch by Bill Walko:

Blue and Gold convention sketch by Bill Walko

On DeviantArt.com, Walko explains that the dialogue is "a private cosplay joke." Any chance that's what the two fellows we met yesterday were saying?

UPDATE 2015-06-10: It turns out that Walko drew more than one Blue and Gold sketch last weekend! You can find the other here: billwalko.deviantart.com. (It's really the better of the two.)

Would Max Lord Put a Bullet in Ernie's Head?

This is not the first time I've posted a pic of Blue and Gold as Bert and Ernie. This is also not the first time I've posted a pic by Bill Walko. However, this is the first time that I've posted a pic of Blue and Gold as Bert and Ernie by Bill Walko.

Ernie and Bert as Beetle and Booster

Walko created this piece for "The Line It Is Drawn" feature of the Comics Should Be Good! blog at ComicBookResources.com, where you can find more amazing mash-ups every week. You can find more work by the insanely talented Walko at his page on DeviantArt.com.

Thanks to Kord Industries (@KordIndustries1 on Twitter) for being the first to call this piece to my attention. (It's funny, but some pieces of art really stir up the fans. This is one of them. After @KordIndustries1 tweeted me, I must have been told about this a half dozen more times. Thanks to everyone who let me know. It's better to have a bunch of tipsters reporting the same thing than to accidentally miss something this awesome.)

Delicious

At long last, someone has finally sated the need for a Booster Gold appearance in one of those classic Hostess Pie advertisements ubiquitous in Bronze Age comics. Bill Walko recently submitted the following image to Comic Book Resources' "The Line it is Drawn" column as part of its try-out for new regular artists.

The Power of Pie by Bill Walko

Click the image above to go see a better, larger copy of the ad (and other fine works) at Walko's website, The Hero Business. As Skeets would say, "word."

You can also vote for Walko as your favorite in the contest at Comic Book Resources, although you would be advised to take a look at the entries first. There is an image of Booster Gold with Bone and several other teaming Booster with Doctor Who. But don't drag your feet, voting ends Thursday.

Boostone Gold

The Flintstones turned 50 years old yesterday. If I'd been on the ball, I would have posted this yesterday. But I've been busy. (Ahh, to be able to travel back in time to avoid my mistakes...)

Pebbles and Booster Gold by Bill Walko

The above image, by Bill Walko of the invaluable titanstower.com, can be seen at its full size on cbr.com. In the background of the image are lyrics to the song "The Bedrock Twitch" as performed by Rock Roll in the season 3 episode "The Twitch." If you're in a celebratory mood, you can listen to the song here on youtube.com and dance along with Booster and Pebbles.
