Site Upgrades
Boosterrific.com is taking the opportunity of end-of-the year downtime to upgrade a few things around the site. You may have already noticed the addition of an expanding menu at the page header above to make site navigation a little easier. Most of the rest of the changes are between the panels, so to speak, so you shouldn't notice much else changing.
However, if you do discover something broken that doesn't magically fix itself by next week, please leave a comment so we know where to send our crack debug team next. Or if you'd like to see something that isn't broken work a little better, let us know and we'll look into it. (No promises.)
Thank you for your patience.

Boosterrific Polls Update
Beginning today the weekly Boosterrfic Poll will be merged in line with the blog. This was partly done to give the poll new prominence by making it a weekly talking point. But it was also done partly because I decided to overhaul the polls page and went "all in" on the back-end script overhaul. In any event, expect to see polls on Friday posts from now on.
Last week's poll question: Which is the most appropriate anagram of Booster Gold? (12 votes)
This was probably the silliest poll at Boosterrific to date. We're not out of poll ideas here just yet, I just thought it'd be nice to joke around with some word play after all these months of pulling our hair out over the DC reboot. I'm not in the least bit surprised to see that "got so bolder" is the winner, as I also think that it sums up Booster's journey through Booster Gold, Volume 2.
I was struggling to think of an appropriately weighty question to kick off this new poll format, so I asked my mother for suggestions. She replied, "why don't you ask people what they think about Booster Gold's new hat?" Which simultaneously proved that despite my having run this site for years, mother still has no idea who Booster Gold even is and inspired this week's poll question.

Technical Difficulties
For the second time in under a year, Boosterrific.com is recovering from a computer crash. Last time it was hardware failure, but this time software is to blame: an overzealous anti-virus software led to an OS failure. Recovery is already well underway, and site downtime should be minimal. Again, I apologize for the inconvenience.

Booster Gold, Son-In-Law
Only 19 people voted in last week's poll, but that's not the surprising part. (There was a low voter turn-out late last June/July, too. It seems it's just that time of year.) What surprised me was that all poll respondents said they would be okay with Booster Gold dating their daughter. I think it is the first unanimous poll in the past two years of questions.
I'm not saying that I wouldn't let Booster date my hypothetical daughter, I'm just surprised that everyone would. Although, I guess that I have to conceded that if you were the kind of person who would encourage your child to date someone other than a superficial celebrity with a string of questionable relationships, you probably don't visit Boosterrific.com frequently.
In related news, I'll soon be tinkering with the polls page to make it more archive-friendly, and it's time to generate some more poll questions. I'm planning on recycling some questions from the past year to see how your opinions have changed. I also plan on asking more questions about the reboot once it is underway. But if there is anything Booster-related you'd like to put to a vote, just let me know.

Viral Ads at Boosterrific
This weekend, the following was posted in the comments here at Boosterrific.com Blog for a post about last year's Comic Con.
Bob posted on Mar. 26, 2011 at 8:52 AM
That's awesome Geoff Johns is writing another episode of Smallville, I liked what he did with the Justice Society in a previous episode. I don't know your personal preference, but I need my Smallville in HD. Just to let you know, DISH Network has plenty of affordable packages with HD right now and you can find information on how to get free HD on DISH Network's official website. Don't you want to see Smallville in HD?
A friend of the site pointed it out and suggested that I delete it as obvious viral marketing. However, the commenter, Bob (bot or not?), was careful to respond to the content of the original post and did not include a direct link to the site he is clearly shilling for. I happen to think that Booster Gold would be particularly pleased by this sort of viral marketing, so I think it should remain a valid comment here on the site, don't you?
Besides, I do kind of want to see Booster Gold in Smallville in HD.
(This comment also included encoding translation error artifacts, exactly like a post last week by Erin. Two in one week; it's a sign! I therefore took the time to adapt the script to eliminate these irritating bugs. Hopefully.)
