DC Universe Online Presented by Booster Gold
From Larry Evertt's Massively.com interview with DCUO's Chris Cao:
The last system we have is really meant to give you the sense of this rich, deep city. We have a series of exploration quests [for when] you're tired of fighting or just want to get deep in the DC lore. We have Booster Gold, who is this [smarmy], chill, NASCAR superhero. He actually wears the stickers of sponsors, so he's the ultimate sell-out. We use him as the tour guide [for] Booster Gold Tours Metropolis, [with] little kiosks that are conveniently placed [by] safehouses. If you go and take that tour, it will actually let you go to key areas like Crime Alley where Bruce Wayne's parents were murdered, or the Daily Planet, which is actually under duress here because of Brainiac's attacks -- [places] that really matter in the DC Universe. There's a cool cam that actually rotates around, telling you in Booster Gold's voice about any point of interest. You can just go, do these, and explore.
And so the secret of Booster's role in DC Universe Online is revealed! Find the whole interview (it's a pretty big and revealing multi-part interview) on Massively.com.

From the Future: More DC Universe Online
So, did you see the DC Universe Online trailer unveiled last week at Comic Con? Sadly no Booster Gold, but there's plenty of Kevin Conroy, Mark Hamill, and alternate future time traveling! How can a game whose storyline features Lex Luthor traveling back-in-time from the future to warn the present about Brainiac not feature DC's current Time Masters? I had wondered how much Booster Gold might be in the game considering his public persona as super hero shill. But now I begin to suspect that there may be an opportunity to take a ride with Rip Hunter in a Time Sphere. Don't let me down here, Sony. (You can see the trailer yourself here.)

He's in the Game
Eagle-eyed viewers will spot the Booster Gold advertisements in the urban backgrounds of the latest E3 2010 DC Universe Online trailer. Booster has never been anything more than background detail in previous DC video games. (He was referred to by name in 2006's Justice League Heroes but never appeared on screen.) Here's to hoping that he gets to play a bigger part in the upcoming Sony DC Universe Online MMORPG. I know I'm not alone in saying that I won't be playing if I can't interact with Skeets.

Warner Brothers Go North
Yesterday Warner Brothers Interactive Entertainment announced the opening of a development studio in Montreal, Quebec, Canada in order to develop video games specifically based on DC properties. No games or titles were announced, though the business plan looks forward to a full-scale production company by 2015. While WBIE will no doubt be primarily interested in producing games to go with their upcoming movies (Green Lantern and Jonah Hex spring to mind), surely it can't be long now before Booster Gold finally appears in a licensed video game.
