Weekend Update: More Skeets, More Bugs

Over the weekend, Skeets was given his own page here at Boosterrific.com. I figured that now that he seems to be an active member of the Justice League International (more useful than L-Ron ever was, anyway), the little guy has earned it.

Also, some recent changes to the server settings may have had a detrimental effect on the cookie retention for news and reviews comment forms. If anyone has noticed that you have to re-enter your name when leaving a comment somewhere here on the site when once upon a time the site remembered who you were, please email webmaster at boosterrific dot com and let me know what browser you are using. Thanks (and, if applicable, sorry).

Big Week for Booster Gold

Brace yourselves: Booster Gold is scheduled for his biggest week in over 2 decades as he will be appearing as a featured player in two series simultaneously. The last time that Booster was featured in two concurrent books was in 1988, as he was appearing in both Booster Gold and Justice League before Millennium ruined his personal life. Hopefully Booster won't suffer quite so greatly in the next DC mega-event.

However, it's Skeets who really needs to worry. Unless you count his involvement as breakdown artist for 52, Keith Giffen, co-writer for both of Booster's books, has never included Skeets in any of his many, many issues featuring Booster Gold. Might want to unplug those batteries, Skeets. It may be another trip to storage for you.

Skeets Keeps Electric Company

FactorX-Cuatro.com recently posted a list of robots in the DC (and Marvel) Universe. The list seems to confuse some cyborgs (i.e. Metallo) for robots, but does contain many very minor characters, some of whom have ever appeared in only 1 panel! Skeets made the list with no differentiation between the first (destroyed by Maxwell Lord) and second (Infinite Crisis) models which Boosterrific.com considers to be two separate beings. Notably missing is Skeets' mechanical nemesis Maximillion, proving that the list, though large, is not quite complete. Still, it's pretty interesting to see the artificial company that Skeets keeps in the DCU.

Gold Exchange 30

Russ Burlingame's latest interview with Dan Jurgens is up at Newsarama.com. Most satisfying about this interview was Jurgens' admission that "the version of Skeets we're now dealing with was fully programmed by Rip." Finally! The truth about Skeets II! At least the post-Mr. Mind Skeets II, anyway.

Brave and the Bold: Bat Divided

Booster Gold appeared briefly on the Cartoon Network's Batman: The Brave and the Bold last Friday as the unwitting contestant in "Riddle Me This?", a mock television game show masquerading for the Riddler's latest death trap for Batman. The episode, "A Bat Divided!" was amusing throughout despite the brief screen time of the Corporate Crusader. Of particular amusement was the Riddler's silencing of Skeets through the clever application of a simple cloth gag. That's good television.
